Just wanted to point out that employer is not at home does not
means employer cannot pressure the maid.
My sister-in-law, everyday plans what her maid have to do that day.
Then every 30mins to 1hr calls back home to check her maid.
She wakes the maid up 5am & let her sleep 12pm. Everday needs
to clean the windows, wash toilet, bring kids to & back from
school. And still either the maid complain to change or she would
change maid every 3 months.
Everyday meal is Mee, Behoon & eggs.
Even when I was invited to dinner at her house, can see she order
the maid do this do that. At dinner table, the maid was expected to
walk at least 30~40 times to serve a 45 minutes dinner.
Already a serious case recently where the maid sleep at the
corridor just to gain police attentions. Police lodge the case,
then sister-in-law have no choice but to sent maid back
immediately.
I have no surprise if her maid attack her in the future.
By the way, sister-in-law is a Private Teacher. And my brother it's
his own boss. It's does not means not at home cannot pressure maid.
There is always telephone. Pressure does not only comes by
physical. Mental pressure are more deadly.
I pray hard sister-in-law will wake up her idea. She have been
telling me, she paid her salary, she must work the hours that she
is been paid for. This maybe right, but driving toward a deadly
ending.
