PoRen SG We have seen past presidents who are former politicans having problems with the government: a. Devan Nair vs LKY b. Ong Teng Cheong vs Goh Chok Tong Should future presidents be a politican?
PoRen SG I think the non-politican Presidents have all done very well: Yusoff Ishak, Sheares, Wee Kim Wee and S R Nathan.
iveco SG How about Chiam See Tong as future president? OTC and Devan were ex-PAP men, so they are still government mouthpieces to some extent.
