The worst are those teacher scholars...teachers are bad enough for their lack of delication to the education of our youth...but these teaching scholars have...

MAN OF HONOUR

Man has the choice,

To live the life of an Entrepreneur,

Creating jobs or prosperity,

Be an inventor, discoverer, or philosopher

To bring honour to himself and his country,

In the red dot, the man of honour the true man

Is the mandarin, the scholar, or talent,

One who scores the straight Aces,

And he will be revered as true leader

And the ultimate man of honour,

Even as he lives as a lump of flesh,

Even as he lives only by his grades or paper,

No matter how devoid is the excellence,

His paper aces will forever precede over results and performance

Conquest of deep oceans, Transcendance of blue sky,

Wisdoms, service to countrymen or deeds of honour,

Do not matter as scholar is the tool to political ascendence. Laughing

U always need money if ur finding a job overseas and also u need to show the right type of attitude. In S'pore, go-thru-the-motions attitude can help u retain ur job, but outside, u need to display the drive and desire if u wanna continue to keep ur job and get promoted.

Consistent strong work-rate is needed overseas.

They are the PAP babies, so I don't think the PAP will expose them to defeat yet. But I'd bet if they face defeat, they won't know how to face it and take it on the chin.

farmers becoming general??? Question Shocked Shocked
Halooooww....we are in the context of singapore..not china or viet k... and in this new age generation, no paper qualifications means no general for you! omg..wat are you thinking about? Razz Razz

Anyway, thats beside the point. Damn...i just went thru one round of screening in my company..first damn thing they ask, which class of honours are you? Then, see my resume...oh..from NUS. Best thing " I dun see that you are getting alot of As in your subjects"

What the fish....what has my grades to do with my work? Do they mean that just because they are some scholars from elsewhere, they expect everyone to be the same as them? I hate the system in Singapore, but what can we do? Even the PAPs are scholars... Crying or Very sad You cant go and complain to them about scholars! hahaha Laughing

That just shows that ur company only focus on paper results and not stuff like leadership & interpersonal skills from CCA, etc.

When I say farmers, I mean non-scholars with at least a degree... in SAF there are many types of scholars... OMS all the way to local study awards... and those without awards... in conclusion... graduates still have a decent opportunity to get a star...

off-topic.....ani one of u here ever thought of being a quiter...... Very Happy

timothytsgsg SG

I dun even consider it- I'm already becoming one. I'm not working in S'pore period- I'd work overseas once I finish my overseas uni studies.

I won't mind starting at the bottom either- as it's obvious there's only one way when ur at the bottom- up. And getting up the ladder is very motivating!

hmsg SG

hearing it and doing it is different. how would u rate working in s'pore if u hv not even started?

getting up the ladder isn't everything....

timothytsgsg SG

No. But I've friends who have started working and they said working in s'pore is nothing but depressing.

I'd rather work overseas as the emphasis on the approach of work itself is much much more different as compared to S'pore. What I prefer is that I want challenges when I work, something that I love doing- not a yes-man job, agreeing to whatever suggestion, good or bad, that the boss has had made.
