if proton cars are crap, why would they be imported to so many countries including singapore, UK, Australia and etc?

I have even seen an image of a Proton Satria being a police car in the UK.

There another car thread tat was hanging ard for quite some time in another car discussion forum. (sorry, cant remember. should be mycarforum.com) I remembered tat someone from tat forum mention tat the price of the car after converting.. is still more than $100K since there so much extra charges for owning a car in S'pore.
But say to say, even if it is lesser than 100K.. I wont ever consider it anyway! Rather drive a corolla than tat!
