Government doing damage control to PRC by voicing out (strongly) against ROC independence at UN. Of course ROC not happy. Me in Taiwan right now Razz

After hearing clearly what the Taiwan Foreign Minister is saying with his gesture, I cannot believe it at all!

The Taiwan Foreign Minister is just belittling Singapore as a small country like a NOSE DROPPING and using very obscene Hokkien, saying we are carrying the balls/prick of China! "Bo Tong Guo a Lan Pa"!

I wonder how our Foreign Ministry is going to react to this one.

Goh Meng Seng

The Barracuda SG

How would you expect our foreign ministry to react ?

I feel that no reaction is the best reaction to such provocation.

sbst275 SG

Dun bother, they are no better either

sgdiehard SG

They have been having endless problem since ah bian stole the presidency. No popular artists want to perform at their national day celebrations. Their citizens demonstrated against buying expensive arms from USA. Diverting attention away from domestic problem is a common trick used by politician.

Singapore should do nothing!!

The Barracuda SG

Why should we be bother by what their Foreign Minister said ? It was a personal statement made by an individual for a domestic audience. It is not an official statement of their Foreign Ministry nor the official stand of the Taiwanese government. Such a statement make in his personal capacity will only reflect badly on the person. Its best to ignore it.

That one their problem

If you are Singapore's Foreign Minister, what would you do ? Rolling Eyes

Jason Bourne SG

Taiwan politicans are full of gangsters. No point reacting. Mr. Green

sbst275 SG

Correct

Qitai SG

Read the news here in Taiwan. They said they have already send out two official apology to Singapore already.

sbst275 SG

No point... We have enough of them with this

taipeiy SG

You see if Singapore had not made any comment in the UN meetings would our country get such remark from Taiwan foreign minister?

sbst275 SG

In the 1st place, who is making the world troubled? It is CSB

Qitai SG

It seems to me that the media here in Taiwan do not agree with the statement made. So, it is only a comment made by only one person, though it is a person with a high post in Taiwan. The population here in general do not agree with that statement. That is the feeling that I get from the Media and my Taiwanese friend here.

paperduck SG

2 side , china and taiwan also gan na sai lah.

after this 2 incident. i think singapore govt shd.

-no more saying 'only one china' in the media.
-bring back our taiwan deploy SAF.
-dont choose any side when war.

sometime i feel Singapore really abit difficult to involve . those are BIG country games between China, japan ,Taiwan and US . even we know war will great harm toward singapore but we must admit our voice is not a subject .

sbst275 SG

Let's make neutral. Then China will understand our problems as well as we will be at crossroads.

Qitai SG

This would probably incite more anger in Singapore. But the Taiwanese foreign minister not only said that Singapore is Pi Sai. He also said Singapore hugging ROC's Lam Pa.

And for consolation, the media here in Taiwan keeps condemning the inappropriateness of the foreign minister's statement. Apology has also been send to Singapore over the statement this afternoon.

Jason Bourne SG

There is no point to get angry about hooligan politican. Anyhow, they are exposed for the world to see. Wink
