Hong Kong is "rented" officially (with treaties signed) for 100
years by the British from China in 1897. It was returned in
1997.
Taiwan KMT is a defeated opponent trying to rule China. Communist
Mao won. Both claimed to be China since then with the world
regconising Taiwan as China mostly in the early years. Taiwan only
change their stance after KMT loss control of Taiwan in 1990.
Thereafter, the attitude change to one where they are not China.
There are many ways to look at the current Sino-Taiwan affair. Only
one thing I am sure of. Ah Bian is playing with fire.
