the best way to invest that money is....

invest in government securities. Singapore government bonds are stable and anti inflation. Treasury bills are also a safe bet.

LOL U cannot do 3 ventures at one time lar, preferbly u make some venture, buy some stocks and save the rest. Thats why 10k is not enough, if enough, it should be venture, stocks & funds (short term, long term) and save the rest. But for me, it should be job, venture, stocks & funds (short term, long term) and save the rest, depending on wad ventures or jobs.

So while I am pessimistic, I'm not likely to be screwed either, n not likely to be stuck in some zero return shithole.

like tat not call investment.. just protect ur money against inflation.. I would spread out the money over 4 portions to buy global equity fund, techno fund, asia fund and maybe china or india fund..

in such a way.. i am protect myself for mim capital loss and could max my profits when time are good...

I would say INCOME shares is a good investment. At an average ROI of 5.3% per annum (based on previous 5 yrs dividends payout), and with no admin or sales charges, its a good bet. That's close to 500 bucks per yr (for a 10k application), more than enough to change your handphone every year!! Razz

Now who says there's no high returns and low risk investment...and it comes @ no cost?

Once again, I've proven my gambling formula is paying off dividends and I'm looking at the end product. 1k investment, 2k returns in one season. Take the 1k to spend, 1k return to bank, 1k as credits. Now with the credits, I can roll in 1k returns, 1k additional credits.

Thus 2 to the power of zero x 2 to the number of seasons (years) = how much credits and returns i'm getting.

The only problem is that I don't have enough to support a bigger formula. Confused

use $1000 buy some ingredient and spices, pracise frying some kway teow for 2-3 months and try to come out with some unique good tasting kway teow tat look like it is fried kway teow. Use the rest of the money to start hawking. Name your store Old Houguang/Redhill Fried Tway Teow, even though houguang or redhill has no famous fried kway teow store. Try to ask some TV crew or news crew to eat there so they u get famous instantly. If u really get little customer, pay some people to queue up in front of your store to act as though u got a lot of customers. Make sure your store is self service and when u cook, cook real painfully slow so tat the customers r waiting and a queue can form.

If u do it well, u might become a millionaire and owned several stores when u reach age 50.
