true. the Republic of Singapore may be small in size, but on the
economic front, we're definately much stronger than most countries
in the ASEAN context. the next 1000 years? no one can be sure what will happen in the next 1000
years. so why worry so far ahead?
nombor dua:
give me Newater anytime. i'll take and my son will take it. at
least this water is something that come from our own country. at
least this water is not bought from somewhere where we are required
to pay homage to. have to be constantly worried abt the future of
our water sources. at least we depend
on ourselves.

where's tumasek?? 
so wat if indonesia did indeed wake up from the econommic and
political slump and gain more military might? We have a
operationally ready standing force greater than most countries. and
that's wat we have been trained for during NS, during
reservist.
have faith in our armed forces. why throw
in the white flag without putting up a fight? nothing's for
sure. they might not win, we might not lose. i'm not saying we
could/should under-estimate our potential aggressors but all i'm
asking is to have faith in our own armed
forces, to have faith in ourselves.
when Konfrontasi hit us ,we have jus became part of the malaysian
federation. sep 24 1963, we were sabotaged by the TNI-AD under the
command of then president Soekarno. we were ill-prepared to handle
that kind of security situation because we dun have a strong,
credible and dependable armed force to count on. and were we
protected by the federation security machineries? no. we were left
fending for oursleves.
today, the SAF stands tall, being among the best trained and best
equipped force in the region. Numerical superiority is a luxury we
can ill afford. but we have the the technology and the expertise to
count on.
nombor empat:
we do need a bigger 'holding area' but not necessarily a bigger
backyard. but even if we did, we could reclaim land.
i believe involvement in a war would be the last option available
to our poltical masters. May i remind all singaporean males who
have served or till serving in the force, that we have taken the
oath under the state flag to remain loyal to the president and the
republic of singapore. if the day comes for us to don full battle
order , to fight a war, we must do so. surrendering without a fight
is not an option for us.
nombor lima:
if u support the idea of reunificatiom
with malaysia, by all mean, be my guest, apply for malaysia
citizenship. and stay there. fullstop.
nombor enam:
chances are, the ASTROS wouldn't be there within the first hour of
conflict. but then again, even if they did fire upon our land with
it, we still can't give up and surrender. if we're put down by the
fact that they have ASTROS, i'm pretty sure they would also be put
down by the fact that we have apaches, spikes, primus, ....
let's not lose faith.
