It has not been confirmed that PAS had lost its stronghold of Kelantan. At this very moment, PAS and BN is tied at 21 state seats each. Each party would have to garner at least 2 more seats in order to be eligible to form a state government. Recounting of votes is currently underway for 3 state seats.

With regards to the bridge, aren't they going ahead with it alone, the construction on their side has begun has it not?

Malaysia have stopped all construction on the bridge, in favour of further talks with Singapore on redevelopment of the Causeway. Leaders in Malaysia have said that continuing with the construction of the bridge would reflect 'bad ties' between the two neighbours.

You do not get the full picture. Singapore had already told Malaysia that we are not interesting to build the bridge because it will waste money and do not help much in easing the traffic.

The Tuas Causeway has already waste Gov and car-owners money. I hope Singapore Gov stand firm on our long term interest and do not give “sweet” to new Gov of Malaysia

Yes, I am fully aware of the situation. But hey, at least the new Malaysian Government is willing to stop all work indefinitely and sit down to discuss. To reach a win-win situation whereby we can all reach a single outcome which will benefit both sides. Rather than the old Mahathir Government who can be quite stubborn when dealing with this kind of issues.

If only more of us are as optimistic as you are. And also let's hope the new Malaysian Government wouldn't be as muddle-headed as Mahathir's.

By the way, the Malaysian PM's name is Abdullah bin Ahmad Badawi. In other words, Badawi is his father.

This new PM of Malaysia is friendly but it will give Singapore more problem because Singapore Gov has started lossing its principle.

Malaysia stop bridge contruction because they want to build a straight bridge instead of orginal curve bridge. This is nothing to do with us because we have already explain to Malaysia we will build our bridge a few years later

Singapore Gov should understand that it is good to build up good relationship with Malaysia but

Singapore Gov should always put our long term interest first.

We have already waste a lot of money on Tuas Causeway and two Immigration building but end up car-owner have to pay more entrance fee
