Affording a car

Hi Guys. I hope I you guys won't be offended by this question.
Trying to find out those people owning cars out there. Are you working already? If so, how much do you earn. Because I am budgeting myself. I earn about 3k before CPF. I don't know if taking 1k every month to feed the car (installments, petrol, etc), I can still survive comfortabily. Got a flat but no kids yet. Don't know if can save any money while owning a car with this pay. Don't want to end up bitting off more than I can chew. Embarassed
My previous job, I was doing sales, so got company car to drive. Now changed job, no more car. But once you start driving, it's difficult giving up that kind of freedom! Drivers out there should know the feeling! Wink

sorry for the late reply ... 3k before CPF ... that mean you are getting 2k+ home ... i think you will be bitting off more then you can chew if you get a 1600cc car ... market now ... the monthly installments is 700-900 for a 1600cc car ... but it would totally be a different thing if you plan to get a 1000-1500cc car ...

Any cars you have in mind ??? if have post here and i think there will be fellow forumers here to help you with your doubt ...

Actually, in no rush to get a car. just gian only. But meantime looking for a 1000cc car. Was looking at March. But if got daihatsu sirion or move, I don't mind having a look. If the price and car is right, don't mind buying it. Thanks if anybody can help. Razz

yah, save up and get something that you could call your own. Anyway, the price of car rentals range from 800-1000++. So no point! End up spending more money. Did try to find something like that 2 years back, found out not worth it! Rolling Eyes
Well, I think have to lun till next year then consider again. Who knows, maybe get used to taking bus! Razz
