The tone of politics in Singapore has been conducted in a very
personal manner as originally set by our SM LKY.
SM LKY's brand of politics towards any Politicians have been based
on comparing Personal Traits, Qualifications, Abilities of any
Politicians, and measured on a benchmark set by Him.
How many Politicians have been dragged through the slime and mud of
politics, with the public exposure of personal and private
information ?
Even the much liked Opposition Chiam See Tong had his original 'O'
Level Qualifications - with comparison of his individual subject
grades obtained at 'O' Levels - being announced and laughed at by
SM LKY, and comparing Chiam to the University Qualification of PAP
Candidates - especially that of his son, LHL - at an election rally
in Fullerton Square during the 1980s.
That speech backfired, and the public gave overwhelming support
that got Chiam into Parliament.
The public display of deep set abhorrance (too mild a word) was
shockingly to a level of personal vendetta, in the prosecution of
JBJ - to the level that he has been publicly denounced in the most
libellous manner, as a charlatan.
Yet the omni-potent denouncer is immune to any libel action from
the victim, as the Law is in the grip of the omni-potent
denouncer.
It is a shame and a black mark for Singapore, that Politics in this
country has degenerated to such a gutter level, against the high
standards expected of Politicians, and in a backdrop of a Singapore
that is supposed to be a First World Country.
Surprisingly, while the omni-potent Father has grind JBJ down to
dust, his Son is attempting to make political mileage by raising
the ghost of JBJ - by praising him as a Good Singaporean for
persevering against all odds for the good of Singapore - for NOT
being a QUITTER.
Is JBJ so bad as made out by the omni-potent Father after all, or
was it Politics ala Singapore Style ?
Can you believe everything that the Ruling Party say about the
Opposition Parties ?
With an army of Psychologist, Data Researchers, obedient Civil
Servants, the Ruling Party has efficiently used the various
controlled public media to 'brain wash' Singaporean opinions
against the Opposition Parties.
Review some of the old pictures of a combative LKY in his election
campaigns of the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s; it is little different
from some of the uncomplementary pictures of some Opposition
Members shown over the various media.
It depends on how those combative pictures of a Politician is used,
with accompanying words that either compliment or deride the
subject person that will finally sway the mind of the viewer.
Welcome, to the Future World of Virtual Reality in Politics - you
see it, but will not dare to enter it, unless you are prepared to
sacrifice more then you can afford.
Kudos to JBJ for his perseverence against all odds.
