dumbdumb! SG actually hor, i abit the lost in the news, but wats the importance of PB to us? is it tt significant or impt? tts why we must fight with malaysia over it? just need explaination, cuz i dun understand
Atobe SG PB is probably sitting on the edge of someone's oil or gas resource. From PB, we could drill at an angle to tap on that resource. If you noticed in all the news pictures of PB, there is the very prominent tower with all the antennas, it is actually a drill rig under disguise. Like all drill platform, there is also a helipad. Singapore Petroleum Corporation shares will sky rocket soon, when she hit pay dirt of black gold or perfumed gas. We will be amongst the few non-Muslim countries that will join OPEC. This is the reason for Malaysia trying so hard to prevent us from taking ownership of the island.
kanzer SG Pedra Branca is of strategic importance to the SLOC. It is the eyes and ears to our national security. It is not about the infrastructure on the island. It is not about face. It is not even about the rocks itself. It is not about the monetary benefits deriving from owning the island itself. This is about territorial completeness and sovereignity. no govt in its right frame of mind will give up its soverignity and territory rights just like that. they will lose the confidence by it own populace…....
kanzer SG my friend, do you know how an oil rig operates? the structure on the PB is too small to big a drilling platform......and if it is really an oil rig, the msians will definitely make some louder noise than what they are doing now..... and they will certainly move more military assets into the area.....
Atobe SG The more familiar "Oil Rig" that one probably associate with are those off-shore platforms anchored out in the vast ocean, and come in different shapes (see Pic 1). Whatever the platform design may take, the familiar 'A-Frame' tower will always be there, the purpose of which is to vertically align the drill shaft and bit prior to its vertical descent into the ocean floor. This "A-Frame" tower can be transplanted on-shore, on stable ground; and it can also easily be in a narrow shaped tower that resemble a Military Radio Signal Transmitter (see other pics). However, the common prominent feature to all the pics, is the familiar heli-pad Pic 1 Other Pics: Anyway, I was just kidding about the gas and petroleum, but.... then again, who knows the intrigues of politics..??
warspite SG Actually, the lighthouse is a ruse. It is in fact the outermost cover of our IRBM silo. Oh shit! I shouldn’t have said out loud!
