they are welcome as long as they behave themselves... since the
image of the "ugly singaporean" became well known, i feel that
we're not very forgiving of uncivilised behavior anymore...
of course, some locals still hog buffet tables and spit and litter,
but Sg are proud of who they are, what they've achieved and being
educated and more exposed to other cultures through travelling and
overseas education, we perceive ourselves to be a civilised people
and prefer the company of those like us.
my grouse with the "chinese" is that some of them are rather badly
behaved and uncivilised... some i would go as far as to label
barbaric and a serious embarassment...
but they've only just emerged after many years of isolation...
it'll take time before they learn how to behave and for others to
accept them better.
as for malaysians, i believe its envy on their side and arrogance
on ours... why else would chinese and indian malaysians join in to
trash us even though they're officially discriminated against by
the gov't?
they hate us cos they think we look down on them 
which isn't
entirely false... pride is a funny thing... it makes some do really
irrational things that might not always be consistent with their
interest...
