With the date decided on, Syed Hamid hoped the island dispute,
which arose in 1979 and became more intense in recent months, would
not become polemical.
He also hoped this would lead to the status quo on Pulau Batu Puteh
being kept intact, with neither Kuala Lumpur nor Singapore claiming
sovereignty over the island.
I hope both parties will exercise their rights without
interruption or interference on any side and I think no party at
present can claim sole sovereignty over that island, said Syed
Hamid
He said while Kuala Lumpur and Singapore awaited the ICJ verdict,
both sides should exercise their right on the island, except on the
management of the lighthouse, which remained with Singapore until
the dispute was resolved.
As such, Singapore should not prevent Malaysian fishermen from
fishing in the area.
That (area) has been the traditional fishing ground for the
fishermen around it. They have been fishing in that area not over a
short period of time ... theyve always been there, he added.

Another sneaky attempt by the Malaysian Foreign Minister to
engineer an opportunity to put a toe hold claim of equal access
in administering the island of Pulau Batu Puteh, which is also
called by us as Preda Branca.
He has the unashamed audacity in trying to neutralize our position
by simply signing an Agreement to bring this matter to the
International Court of Justice.
He has the brilliance of an imbecile to think that after signing
the agreement he can dictate that no one has TOTAL SOVEREIGNTY over
the disputed territory, while the matter is under judgment.
Therefore, all parties will have EQUAL ACCESS to the disputed
territory.
This is a totally audacious display of a person thick skin - which
is as thick as the hide of a crocodile, and with fangs that are as
undisguised as his lusts.
The only disappointment is that his brain is similar to that of a
rat, with a face and personality that befits his ratty image
too.
