CX SG ... which do not always make a point... its a sin i disagree with your perspective on the malaysian outburst. it was NOT directed solely at Australia... u don't even have to read between the lines to find out... as i mentioned before, "forward defence" has been articulated in official circles and in the press in the past to mean Sg's policy of deterrence and bringing the battle to the enemy's territory because of Sg's lack of a defensive depth. "forward defence" is quoted exactly in the recent malaysian outburst. so don't be simplistic. it is exactly what it seems... a poorly veiled threat. and Tim Huxley is an australian academic not an australian politician... assuming that he speaks for his gov't is ridiculous. not even all australian politicians echo their gov'ts position
CX SG of course its out of date lah... its based mainly on public domain info and bits and pieces of info from internet forums and discussion groups such as THIS ONE... he says so himself in the preface... u expect cutting edge exposé? get real... its interesting reading because it brings in all the varied sources of info into one place and talks about all the arms of the SAF in a thematic manner... most of the info are hardly top secret stuff... and the analysis is based on figures available openly... if M'sia so chooses to keep theirs secret, they can only smile if people think that they're weak... their secret is safe... whats the point of raising hell and saying that people are not giving u due credit if it was you yourself who wanted to keep your capabilities secret in the first place???
Atobe SG Hi Mazohyst It is not my postings that is long, but the space is just too tight. I am in good company with CX, Gun, and Associates - where ideas flow. Then again, Life can also be short. Happy New Year !

Mazohyst SG haha.. happy new year then. i think your long essays n good grammer are pretty wasted… not many ppl have the capability to understand them.
Atobe SG hmmmm... "no skin off my nose" if anyone feel the grammar is too good for their understanding and feel that it is wasted on them... this is only my small contribution towards the use of proper English in Singapore. Your English isn't too bad either, and so are those from several contributors who have gone "latin" too.
CX SG i'm guilty of excessively long posts myself... and i've realised that NOBODY READS THEM so i think we should all try to be concise... its a skill... try to say more with less... too lor sor no point lah...
SurFeR18 SG hey Fuc*ER!What are you doing in this SG Forum? For youe info SG means singapore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Get lost to your home town and start your very own MY forum!!!!!!hahahahahahaha mother Fuc*ER
SingaporeTyrannosaur SG If you read Douglas Chua’s Crisis in the Straits, there are some parts where Singaporean troops engage Malaysia troops. The story is kinda far-fetched, the english terribly singaporean in structure and seems like an episode of triple nine but the subtitle “Malaysia Invades Singapore” is kinda catching… Go to any good bookstore and take a look at the Local section…
CX SG oh please... i wouldn't buy that book with YOUR money... it suks... not that i don't support Sg writers lah but PLEASE... a little RESEARCH would help A LOT...
SingaporeTyrannosaur SG It’s bad writing, I bought it just because of it’s contreversial content. The english was a pain to read and sian lor, we never smite the malaysians with the mighty Apache!
Atobe SG Douglas Chua's "Crisis in the Straits" must have been written to capitalise on the current events that have been fanned by some of the 'nukes' thrown at Malaysia by SgForum participants (???). No one can blame him for "making hay while the sun shine" - especially when there is a market out there for his kind of writing.
BillyBong SG I'm sure this "innocent malaysian" does not speak for the masses of the good malaysian people...it can't be that every malaysian is as hair-brained as this one.
CX SG i think the publication date was several years ago... so its not likely to be referring to this period specifically unless the author got ESP... but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Sg and M'sia are not best friends...
eurofighter SG Were there any close encounters of war with Malaysia so far? Heard that we almost had one in 1998/1999 over the railway station problem as well as many other problems. Tension was pretty high then.
