[G]oggles SG May I know more about Specialist and Officers pay? Does specialist or officers earns more? I heard that Officers' career span is very short, much shorter than the career span of a specialist, may I right?
Prince38 SG initial pay, spec pay more, as you progress, officers earn more. much more....also as officer, when you come o the end of contract, most likely you be offered a job in ST or whatever gov linked comp.

CX SG bollocks! its the same lah... u don't perform, they hang u out to dry. if anything, its worse actually cos there's intense competition with the scholars. now i know the official position is that scholars are no different from the rest. but think about it... would they ignore a scholar after spending so much money to send him overseas for education? they'll definitely monitor his performance more closely. i think civil service is a good "entry level" job... but its never a good idea to stay too long in there. depending on where u are, either the monotony would rot your brain or the politics would burn u bad.
