"In fact, a well respected military journal claimed recently that
Singapore would have an expeditionary armed force by 2005"
The beginnings of an 'expeditionary' SAF is already in the making,
with out troops now in East Timor, although as part of the UN
effort to rebuild that country.
One of our Major General is also made the UN Commander of the UN
force made up from several contributing UN member countries.
With more then a decade of our various forces spread out across the
globe, on various military training exercise - (Australia, Brunei,
Canada, France, New Zealang, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, and
USA) - the planning and logistic expertise of our SAF has been
carefully honed.
Could this be mistaken by some Harimau readers of the unmistaken
strengths of the SAF ?
Just as well they have taken notice, and hopefully their jaundiced
views could be tamed.
