alamak rather buy falcon bk 60 then Gripen…......this two planes have abt the same capability (however F-16 more advance), by aqquring another batch of falcons i believe the only advantage is logistic ease , however too much weapon of the same kind also the no good.I still believe ,Rafale and theTypoon are the best choice,it varies our aircraft inventory and free from US ‘strange’ foreign sale policy .Wat’s ur opinion?

Well, even to us the outcome is pretty clear, either F16 block 60s or the Rafale. I think MINDEF already has a list of at most 3 fighters, but they are waiting for Malaysia to announce first.

i heard the no. is about 20-24.......
but i heard from some places malaysia might be getting 30 aircraft..(both su-30 and superhornet)....

Singapore has 120+ Skyhawks in active service... i will not say RSAF will replace them 1 for 1... but the number is there. Go figure.

As previously stated, numbers dun win a war. 30 superbugs and Su30s means they are a viable threat? I doubt. The more plane Malaysia has, the more burdened the RMAF will be, which only leads to reduces combat effectiveness and poor operational readiness.

the Gripen looks good .. but the thrust the speed the accleration is not up to 4th generation fighters also

Why suddenly mention the JSF? It is still in development and theres still am long way for it to go. I believe it is not a factor as of now.

logistics have been hell for the northers on their hornets and MiGs........i wonder how are they going to cope with the Su-30s or even worst...a brand new aircraft ...the F/A-18F....good luck... Laughing

Laughing dun make me laugh Malaysia get 30 planes....u must be kidding......now are they trading palm oil or hard cash....
They just acquire submarines and several exorbitant hardware.....
If u read from some where that MY are getting a rough figure about 30 planes u can use the mag/book paper as some restroom tissue

I think i made a mistake, it should not be 120 “in active service”. What is the figure stated in “Defending the lion city”? I believe RSAF has more than 80.

there are indeed 120+ skyhawks are in singapore….however only a number is operational…......(as singapore buys the spare and frame from a bone yard and together with a assemble plant to fits thoses scooters) maybe ,i will say 30 to 70 may be the reliable amount…....(actually 70 for mi alittle big liao…..but give face to Tim Huxley)

I personally think most probably be typhoon 1st because sg wans an aircraft tt have BVR capability. Main prioity is air defense. Rafale performance is sux although sg got a gd relation with france. F-16 block 60 also a possiblilities cos to cut cost on training. F-15e is the last possibliliites because of S.korea accquire the strike eagle tt have crusie missile capability n JDAMs.

Super hornet n Su-30 is totally out....
