this is afterall, a very sensitive topic.
malaysia itself, it's economy is still rather unstable, and its
country also face instability because of the religious fanatism. i
wouldn't want to comment too much about them simply because i don't
exactly know much about malaysia's economy and its economic
system.
singapore.. oh well, one thing proud to say is that we have indeed
a prudent and efficient government where you find no corruptions or
anything, and though yes, we might not allow free flow of ideas,
but i believe that this is quite inevitable in singapore's society.
besides, singaporeans are so complacent that they find this no
difficulty to comply to.
malaysia actually developed way before singapore, but it's because
of the policies and the way singapore governs herself, it has
exceeded malaysia in many aspects. we must never fail to see
malaysia and other countries as competitors, but malaysia still has
a long way to go. although malaysia has started to teach english in
their schools, however, this is a long process, and may not advance
that fast in the near future. they must first find teachers, and
wait for the current students to grow up.
singapore indeed has a rather high standard of living qualitatively
and quantitatively, and yes, there is a price to pay. of course,
nothing in this world is free isn't it? there's a price to pay for
any country in the world to enjoy your high living standards. tax
and all that, is inevitable as well. maybe you could think it when
you are all aged and old, that money can come in useful.
