poor xiaohan...I don't think the award trophy cost value is as much as your stuff, right? The security is really quite horrible then...didn't they separate the fans from the vip seats well enough? I thought you were sitting quite in front, but someone still managed to get your bag? Confused

Maybe you can try lodge a report to Suntec security (or whichever company undertaking the security work that evening). Hope you'll be able to get it back...good luck hoh....

eric kanbatte, chen huan ren is never easy to beat, i guess. same old consolation for you - "can win award or not not important, nomination itself is already sufficient".

hahha yah lah thanks man...but there was actually no competition or no fight frm me lah coz the song i was nominated for was a song that nobody knew and a song with a history i rather not mention, all my other songs tat ppl knew (paper plane, A Ju yu le and other songs that actually had airplay)were mysteriously taken out of the loop or just rejected by "policies"...
with no explanation...but well, tat's up for them to decide anyway. i shall just go on doin what i'm doin the way i like it!

but for xiaohan is a well deserved win coz u have been working on this craft longer and harder then the rest in our new generation of writers...so lets forget about tat damn bag lah cock! hahaha...it's fine lah...ask our boss to buy u a new phone to compensate lah?! hahaha! is that a great idea or what? hard work shld be rewarded(talking about tis i'll call up mon later! hahhah)

Actually this kind of award ceremonies always full of ironies and long-due recognition all mixed into a single event. Some people who always mo mo gen yun and work hard behind the scenes will get their chance to be singled out for praise in this kind of ceremony. However, at the same time, some people's better works are always overshadowed by others just because these works are not glam or "famous" enough to win the awards.

Best way to react to this kinda things is to celebrate your triumph and soak in the elation as much as you can. After that, put it at the back of your mind and move on. The world is moving on every second and won't wait for you, so you need to constantly whip yourself to go forward if you don't want to fall from the pedestal.

For those who did not manage to win the award, see it as a kind of motivation telling you that you are still not at your best yet, and you should always strive to be better than before.

Enjoy while it lasts, coz after that, it's back to business~ Rolling Eyes

In fact...SHUN JIAN and A JI YU LE were good...zhi fei ji was not nominated becoz u shared the credit with sandy lam i tink...in fact shun jian is well accepted by a lot of a mei fans.

The awards were predictable lar...but the most unhappy would be He Yao Shan and Sammi fans i suppose. There is no excitement for the awards...except juz tat u hope for the singers u support to win.

The night had SOME VERY BAD SINGING. Coming from a certain Peggy, a certain Yanzi, a certain celest, a certain tay ping hui...

And fashion...S.H.E looks erm...TOO CUTE??? SYZ was horrible in the blue outfit...any comments?

yes...in that way it's not really predictable, becoz by the huge support that sun has over here, i tot she would have at least won on the voting award coz i have seen how crazy her fans react when voting...so it's just a mystery...

OK! being a victim myself, even though im not really fans of all the singers that went up there, but the sound up there was horrible...but yet i already expected it...and i could actually predict it was gonna be bad(i was at the last mah) coz all the mistakes most of the singers made are the usual ones when u cannot hear the music or yourself properly(like coming in or ending off with slightly off notes) so well...i cannot defend all of the singers for their live singing talents but some of them suffered from this reason of the sound on the monitors...i just don't really understand sometimes the meaning of 'sound check' over here when the sound in the end is not what we heard when we last checked...

I cannot have any comments man..i was the anti glam last nite, I was walking back and SHE was walking behind me...one of them said...'eh! his slippers are cool leh!' and the other one said 'wah...i never ever seen anyone wear slippers to an award show b4 leh!?' hahhaha! i just turned around and smiled at her...tat was quite funny...but well, as i said, i am just a small music writer...

Hey guys, I tend to agree with Eric. Getting an award doesnt mean that a musician is at his best. Coz it is all subjected to lotsa factors, whether the song got airplay or not, whether the panel like the song or not, whether your record company would like to nominate you or not. I think Lee Zongsheng and Lin Xi never ever had an award for best lyrics in Taiwan b4 but NOT becoz they are not at their best. c'mon, they are the best lyricist you can ever find in this century! Everyone can sing their song without having to memorize the words, and get touched by the words all the time! so why dun they get an award, right? like last yr, Naying won TW Golden melody award best lyrics? she herself thought it was a joke!

Getting an award is nice, but that really doesnt mean that you have to become proud and think that you are great or something. In fact I feel more stressed after that that I couldnt sleep a wink that night!

ha! I am quite tall, not small and quiet (as all the 933 pple thought small winter). And a little on the plump side (if thats what you mean by CUTE). haha. But I think everyone expanded 30% on TV! haha!

We are all small time musicians who like to hide in a cave and produce music through the opening for pple who are not afraid of the weird looking creatures inside. So it doesnt really matter how we look or how we dress, right?

well b4 u run...go preview carefully 1st...i chose not to buy it lah...in my place is the only play safe song actually, tat's why xh felt cheated...i heard a few times, usually by the 3rd song i hear in an album, u will know if u like it..and the 1st time by the 5th song i still can't find anything good..so i dropped it and tried another time a few days later...still cannot lah...

Sometimes it's not easy also. Some fans expect you to change your style for every album, while some expect you to play safe and remain the same. Got change, they say should not have disturb the winning formula. No change, they say should have been more creative and break out of the shell.

What factors make you decide to go along the same vein for your next album, or break out of it for a radical change?

Well...many albums released in the market recently...let me go briefly into 3 selected albums ... A*Mei, Zhou Hui, Elva Hsiao.

A*Mei and Elva Hsiao fans have sparked off a big argument in taiwan over whose album sold better...and all that...

A*Mei's album is a highly commercialised album...personally i dun tink too well of hen jiao se or hen jue se (sg pronuniciation)...Although this album is commercialised...well...it's a different feel from Truth. I dun really like fast songs...so i personally dun enjoy 54321 and gen wo yi qi feng...all i can say it's a change from her usual fast songs.

Do pay attention to the slow songs...zhi dao, xia yi ge ren, bie qu da rao ta de xin, ting jian le ma and jiu shi ai...somehow these slow songs prove to be stronger than the slow ones...all of them are equally good...worth mentioning is bie qu da rao ta de xin...is composed by tanya chua...ting jian le ma...is my shunza and it's another touching song...zhi dao appears to be a continuation of ting hai, wo wu suo wei, jian ai trilogy...the hype is on jiu shi ai...this song was the reason why the album was delayed...

Overall this album is a worth buy especially for the slow numbers.

Elva's 5th album proved to be more successful than 4U...although i found 4U not bad...it did not digest well with the fans...overgoing an image overhaul...looking for natural certainly does help elva...wat abt the songs?

Ai De Zhu Da Ge is a powerful dance number...u can expect to groove and dance to...the kind which u can hear in discos...U make me wanna is a cooperation between elva and blue...

Personally...Wen and Ta He Ta De Gu Shi...easy to digest...sing...other songs like chuan yue shi kong yu jian ni (composed by elva), zhuan yan zhi jian and xiang nian sheng dan jie...are all digestable feel good songs...there's a cover of Sandy Lam's Yuan...(chi and canto version)

RATING: B+

After an absence of nearly 2 years...not with the old songs recording included...zhou hui is finally back...unfortunately...her ren qi has somehow slipped thanks to this long absence..this album is nothing new...with no fantastic lyricists behind her...but this album stands out as it is an album that is long-lasting...which u wun get tired of...so do grab this album and enjoy her music.

i heard one of his new songs that day, quite an interesting song..
called shuang shou cha kou dai (literally: both hands stuffed in pocket)... some very amusing lyrics there... something like he felt very grossed out by his "ai wo bie zou" and earlier love songs that he sang..... and how he doesnt bother about the entertainment industry or how obsessed they are with churning out albums....

I personally prefer A*Mei's and Elva's latest albums to their previous ones, Truth and 4U. Fa Shao is a well-balanced album with a good selection of ballads and fast songs. The fast songs are obviously composed with A*Mei's current world tour in mind I particularly like the infectious track Fa Shao and the Li Wei Song composition Yes or No, but tend to skip Hen Jiao Se becos of its cheesy lyrics. The standout slow tracks are Ting Jian Le Ma, Xia Yi Ge Ren and Zhi Dao. The ultra-slow Bie Qu Da Rao Ta De Xin is strictly for night-time listening and takes a couple of listen to fully appreciate. Jiu Shi Ai (renamed Katsu, but should've retained its original title) is a song very close to A*Mei's heart which sees her "collaborating" with Zhang Mama again after Jie Mei.

It's good to see Elva returning to her earlier style as 4U was not quite my cup of tea. My fav tracks are Wen and Ai De Zhu Da Ge. Like A*Mei, she's one of the precious few Chinese pop singers who can handle fast and slow songs with flair. This album will see her star rise again after that brief stumble with 4U.

I have yet to get Zhou Hui's album but I noticed she's gone back to putting a drawing of her face on the cd cover, after that full-body shot on her earlier oldies album. Wink
