Personally, I don't support the show.
There are several factors.
'A' the pull factor:
They uses artistes to go through dangerous/so-called-dangerous
stunts every year. They try to motivate the attraction of the game
through the lucky draw systems. More money and manpower could be
used to better and if the audience really need waking up calls from
the media then it only means something is wrong with the culture in
Singapore.
'B' the push factor:
They send messages to people who had donated before to request for
more donations which I think is an unhealthy habit. If someone has
paid before, cancelled the line and another user has actually
picked up the same line, wouldn't it be considered
harassment?
'C' the gain factor:
The management system regulates most of its revenue to helping most
of the extreme cases of poverty and kept more than 50% of the money
gained in its reserve every year instead of expending more to
assist more people. The NKF has more than oftenly oversee the
importance of volunteer work and often used paid manpower for
majority of its activities.
'D' the alternative factor:
NKF's aim every year is only to help people with kidney failures
but there are many more people suffering from different problems
that needs help. Thus, the NKF show became a yearly project that
overshadowed many other charities.
