You'll be surprised by the tons of Chinese living overseas.
That's why many artistes (eg. Leon Lai, Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok)
always go overseas to perform, coz these overseas Chinese are
starved for Chinese entertainment and will swarm to these concerts.
That is the usual case for HK artistes, not sure if
Taiwanese/Singapore artistes enjoy the same popularity. But I guess
Stef's company will not take risks to stage her concert on foreign
soils if they have no confidence of sell-out concerts in the first
place. Heard the Singapore one is tentatively scheduled to take
place in April...
A side comment : The "Start" album was touted to a compilation of
YanZi's "personal faves", but she admitted recently that not all of
the selections were what she actually wanted. She is more of an
avid listener of English songs than Chinese (in her schooling days
apparently), so she actually wanted to include some of her personal
English faves, but the company rejected them based on the reason
that those songs were not "popular" enough, eg. "Lightning
Crashes". But at least "Silent All These Years" and "Sometimes Love
Just Ain't Enough" are really nice...
I guess if the album was to be totally selected by her, maybe 70%
of the songs will be English...
