would you quit a job if you were facing the below situation?
I have been working very hard in a job for 2 years, and putting
up with snide and sarcastic remarks from my boss. My boss sometimes
just scold me.
I was working very hard hoping for an promotion but did not get
it. I feel sad because my self-identity is deeply tied into my
work. Now I am really afraid that i would be passed over for
promotion.
I am very unhappy in my work place. I have been taking
anti-depressants for the past 3 months and even thought of
committing suicide. I know that I am not a lazy person but my boss
always aim me. I no longer feel like working hard or doing work for
which I am not appreciated for. I really find it hard to go work
every morning.
I tried hard at work to recruit new students but always get
marked and scolded.. if I quit, I also don’t know where I can
go…..
My parents know I have depressions and taking ant-depressants
and advise me just to quit my job and take a break
But I am very afraid that if I do not stay for at least 3-4
years, in the future, I would be marked as a “job-hopper”. At work
, my colleagues do not really help me; I feel terrible.
looking at the complete picture of your working experience, you
don't seem to have spent enough time for your boss to think about a
promotion, or what have you done to deserve a promotion?
What exactly is your job that should give you commission?
Student recruitment or student enrollment?
You think you should be assistant manager, but does your boss
think? Why do you think others are earning more? you know, some
young graduates who are working as financial advisors are earning
$10,000 a month, some working as school teachers are no having take
home pay more than you do. stop comparing with others, find a job
that you enjoy, not just the job that should give you the money you
want. Work with your colleagues, and your boss, help them to do
well, and don't expect others to help you get promotion.
If you don't change your attitude, you will never find the right
job.
