Enlist his parents as your allies; they will probably have the greatest effect on him.

With any luck, they can force him to pay all the bills. Even if he does clear the bills though, please cancel the line once the bills are cleared and tell him to go fark a spider. Do not ever be friends with him again, and warn everyone who knows him to not trust him.

yah lah, i also nice to friend, help him sign a line, end up starhub called me say more than 10 months never pay the bill and the line is under my name… WTF… i dun mind paying but as far as the friendship, the trust is gone, he still dare to lie and give excuses, lol… really amazing… he thinks other people are stupid to believe his lies…

But if you want to make things difficult, can find a lawyer sue him.. because if he lose, he has to incur the lawyer fee as well, so make his life even more difficult for the same way he made urs difficult… at his age, he can’t siam the debts one, because he still have so many years to live, they will keep pursuing him non-stop…

for the sake of that friend not recognizing it's me, i won't post here, but it's less than $3k. bills owed more than 10 months and only recently i was informed of the problem because if not they will cut my lines. i have my internet and a few lines with them so lan lan have to pay because otherwise clients call me can't find me then i lose even more money...

Speak to his parents, whether he is around or not.

Tell the parents your good deed, (do not refer to you act as stupid), and you believed their son and therefore wanted only to help him.

See how the parents react, and proceed accordingly.

Nope. Nothing got solved. Things got worst. The line got terminated and the bill shoot up to over 1k. Filed a police report after asking Starhub customer service officer. Pray that I only need pay the overdue phone bills only.

You signed for the line, and your friend run away. You are liability to pay for the bill and the equipment charges. Ask for the 6 month interest free installment, and move on.

That "friend" just contact me and say can only pay and reconnect the bills after CNY. So how now? I went down to Starhub Service Centre and she said I have till April to pay up and reconnect the line. Then say their letter is part of their SOP when payment not made after 4th month. The person called just to check when I can pay up. Even though Starhub said April... They like very eager that I pay up asap so they can earn their commission. I don't really blame them but still, consider our side of stress when you only ask when the payment is made only...

But still, I also need to prepare to submit a Magistrates' Complaints if he still don't bloody pay up as this is going to be a case of cheating soon...

As I have told you, YLP LLC will acts as the debt recoverer and will try to nego for 0% installment plan over 6 months with starhub.
