Actually she has fears.
The fear is loss of face, i.e. what will her friends think of
her if she lost her bf. How will her family members feel about her
when the guy dump her. That is her fear.
Also, she has "invested" her time and her feelings, which now is
about to come to nought. She feel so wasted. This is another
fear.
Her hope (whatever it is) could also about to be
dashed.
This fear is manifested in anger, and in that anger she want to
inflict the ultimate hurt on herself.
So she want to choose suicide, to escape the
humiliation and she tell you so, in the hope that you would
change your mind.
