It's pretty normal. In the first place, you should be doing
things in the way that you do not need to rely on absolutely
anyone, because its never a sure thing.
Then you'll be blaming others just because they don't help you,
when its not even their goddamn obligation.
Another thing is, no one likes to be bothered to help out with
someone elses shit. And if they do, they don't like to be the shit
recieving end should something not go very right. They have the
absolute right to be selfish and self centred, think about
that.
Try putting yourself in others shoes before you consider asking
others for help. Sure we all say nice things before anything
happens but thats just diplomacy, and its always barely skin
deep.
On a side note, Facebook ruins lives. Since kiddy days,
apparently, the "I friend u, u friend me" mentality is still pretty
much alive regardless of how old you get.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to pass any shit to anyone.
Just that it be nice to know somebody there, you could probably ask
how to do this or tat? Like I want to know how to get a driver's
licence or ask them where is the nearest supermarket.
I don';t think that is too hard to help. Of course, people being
people tend to be afraid, they think you're going to ask them the
next big question, they are so so afraid of, like "I am having
trouble with my accomodation, can I bunk in with you?" or "I am
running out of money, I can't get a job so far, can I borrow some
money from you?". THESE ARE THE THINGS I WON'T ASK. DEFINITELY. Its
probably the stigmatism.
I am not blaming others for not helping. I am only expressing my
surprise that others are not so friendly in making connections,
contacts and network. I read about Italian migrants to the USA,
they treated each others as "Baizan" or fellow brothers, and helped
each other. Of course, what I expect is some extension of
friendship.
Still in spite of what other forumers say, I am still determined
to go. I am making my preparations even as I speak. Yes, I am going
to be independent. Things r going to be better.
I recall last time my family didn't get along with the
neighbours, we had argument over a lot of issues. So finaly my
father decided to buy a better place and we moved. After that,
things got better, we moved to a better neighbourhood, it was
peaceful. this shows that change does produce results !
