If Telok Kurau could take DDs, 15 would be majority DD fleet now.

15 has Joo Chiat Place which clearly cannot take DDs.

If Jln Kayu can handle DDs, so can Telok Kurau and Frankel.

I revise my opinion. If the rumour is true, 76 WILL 100% be extended via Bedok Sth Av 1/New Upp Changi Rd/Changi Rd. It'll be long and stupid, but in LTA's view it is the most efficient way of providing MP coverage to Kemb & Chai Chee. Getting from Kembangan to Parkway/ Tao Nan/KC/ Ngee Amn will be EXTREMELY long though.

135 will be shortened to loop Marine Cres & Terr. Slightly shorter route could mean improved frequencies. Though idk if the SDs can handle the loads between Paya Lebar & Marine Terr.

Regarding rumours about Svc 76, that has to be the most retarded idea I ever seen ever in SGF. If die die must Kembangan, Svc 135 via Siglap is a better opinion IMO. Fleet suitable also. For Chai Chee, diverting Svc 40 to MP or Svc 16 to Siglap also an option (Divert either 196 or 197 via UEC as coverage for deleted sector.)

Agreed, it is very retarded. But how else would you propose to extend service 76 to Eunos bearing in mind its fleet requirement and the need to provide new connections. The only other plausible connection is via Siglap Rd - East Coast Rd - Frankel Av. Def. ageee that a 135 extension is more sensible. In fact that was my original suggestion. But knowing LTA, they'd want to shore up HDBs for political reasons. So a Chai Chee connection is imperative over Kemb. LTA would not want to divert 196 or 197, becoz then residents have fewer connections to Bedok. I know it's silly but that's the way gomen thinks.

All, public transport website indicates SBS 68 new service, sbs 76 route amendment and smrt 807 new service. All are waiting to be confirmed. Sbs 68 new Eunos service? Sbs 76 slight amendment in marine parade area? SMRT 807 new yishun feeder service? There must be some rumours since there cannot be any fire without smoke. Cheers. Thanks.

If the new bus service at Eunos is 68, I guess it may involve a route amendment to 66, while the new 68 enhances bus connection. Anyway, there is 60 at Kaki Bukit side. I guess if it involves route amendment to 66, this new 68 may swing to the other side: Geylang and Mac Pherson. Meanwhile, if this is how the route of 68 would be, I guess 60 will be re-routed to ply the deleted sector between Bedok Reservoir and Bedok interchange that is unique to 66.

but they did not mention anything about 135 at all.... the one way journey is around 1hr 25 min for 76... what for extend and go such a big route?.

the amendment might be marine cres --> marine parade road, still rd, and then eunos.. return direction --> still rd, marine parade rd, marine cres (so 76 will use red/white plate and call at same bus stop twice).....this is possible...

as for sv68 might be for Ubi industrial estate (that part where 58 ply)....

But, 76 could be truncated to Eunos Int in order to make the route more reliable. Then, 68 could ply Eunos Int - Sims Av - Jln Eunos - Eunos Link - Ubi Av 3 - Paya Lebar Rd - deleted sector of 76 to Marine Terr

Actually this is the most probable speculation... Only problem is that people will not be happy.

As for 68, I agree this is probable because Ubi Av 3 really requires an alternative to 58. With DTL3 coming up, a link between McPherson and Ubi Av 3 will be very useful.

Absolutely, as for 76, truncating it will create quite a bit of unhapniness and will be a huge waste tbh. Commuters who work in Tai Seng will be upset. So will students who live in AMK. If LTA does this then they are really doing a dissapointing job in the East in light of the introduction of 47. But, I think you guys are right, it will probably be the case.

Overall, there will really be no new sectors for Marine Parade Rd except to Ubi Av 3. This may not be very useful for residents as 68 will only serve a small part of Ubi; residents who work in Ubi technopark for example will surely kpkb.

But I really hope LTA will come up with something more creative that will do more to enhance connectivity for Marine Parade and sorrounding areas.

Option 1

76: Paya Lebar Rd > Tanjong Katong Rd > Marine Parade Rd > Marine Crescent > Telok Kurau Rd > East Coast Rd > Frankel Av > Changi Rd > Jln Turi > Eunos Int

1. New connection between East Coast Road & Marine Parade Road in sector not served by 47. After all, UEC already has 13, 16, 43 & 48 connecting them to Marine Parade Road.

2. New connection between East Coast Rd/Frankel Av to Eunos/Kembangan MRT.

3. However it will duplicate 155 between Geylang & East Coast Rd, so this extension is very unlikely, though it is my personal favorite.

68: (Route from Eunos via Ubi Av 3) > Tanjong Katong Rd > East Coast Rd > Telok Kurau Rd > Marine Terrace (Loop)

1. New connection for East Coast Rd to Paya Lebar MRT, and between East Coast Rd & Marine Crescent.

2. However, Marine Terrace residents will be upset at the loss of a connection from Parkway Parade. One-way access provided via 196.

Option 2

76: Paya Lebar Rd > Tanjong Katong Rd > East Coast Rd > Frankel Av > Changi Rd > Jln Turi > Eunos Int

1. New connection between East Coast Rd to Paya Lebar MRT & Kembangan MRT.

2. However it will duplicate 155 between Geylang & East Coast Rd, and 32 along Frankel Av, so this extension is very unlikely.

Option 3

76: Paya Lebar Rd > Tanjong Katong Rd > East Coast Rd > Still Rd > Geylang Rd > Jln Turi > Eunos Int.

1. New connection between Geylang & East Coast Rd in parts not served by 155.

2. New connection between East Coast Rd to Paya Lebar & Eunos MRT.

3. This is more likely than options 1 & 2

Compete abit w 117/811/812 sia. Even 804 very empty alr when it reach st 41. A bit too early before the new N6 and remaining N5 blocks come up.

But suddenly the bus stop at blk 651 / villa francis go from 1 intratown service only to 3 svcs (1 intra 1 trunk and 1 feeder) within a year. A real far cry from the old TIBS 803 (TIB39Y/TIB41P/TIB42L 11m RK176's at its worst with 40 mins freq) days.
