Well, speaking of the City Square, it seems that most Singaporeans go over to JB is only to go to the City Square Mall, or the other shopping mall beside it.

they think over there things are cheaper, but actually, after converting the prices from RM to SGD, it costs about the same... haha. :D

160 and 170 berth is right next to the custom, whereas 950 berth is across the road. Most people take 160 or 170. Only a few cross the road to take 950. It's easier to take 950 than to take 160 or 170.

This probably explains why SBS5010P took 950 instead of 170.

950 is like a insider's "privilege", where those who know that 950 easier to take can actually come back to Singapore faster. :)

Anyway, I guess that was a one-off incident.

but I do not understand why they need to close the lanes at custom or the causeway... you say Mr Najib come Johor Bahru... also not come Singapore... why must close the lanes at custom or the causeway?

I do not know what happened la.... but I guess that day something happened, and the authorities have to increase security checks, that's why traffic is slower at custom.

mr najib go JB...so a lot of road near JB are closed... so cars are being diverted to other roads, thus causing congestion, and malaysia custom closed 28 of the 38 lanes in malaysia custom because their manpower are either sleeping or off or eating snake.......

Causeway got people walk

causeway use to can walk across. i did it before. but now seem like it out of bound. in fact i think both government should allow walking across the causeway to reduce time. If najib want the forested city to be one of the key city in JB it time for them to do something on the causeway. like removing addtional tramsports cost. it stupid but then money is king.

i wanted to walk across the causeway however didnt know how to.

I did saw the blue buses but however the bus drivers abused the passengers by making them run after the bus and refusing to open the doors for them to board. Even have to pay them $2 just to get across the causeway? Even though it was frequent but it came in various forms of sizes of buses including vans

The queue for causeway link bus svcs were already in snakes.

This is my 1st time waiting 2 hours for Sv 950.

I went to take 950 as the queue is shorter compared to the queue for 160, 170 and 170x as it is really too long. Not many people prefer to take 950 as compared to 160, 170 and 170x at JB customs

I went to try it myself today. I cleared the Malaysia custom at 5:15pm and went to wait for bus 950. When I walked to the berth, it was 5:19pm. When the bus 950 arrived, it was 5:40pm. I waited for twenty one minutes for bus 950 to arrive.

While waiting for bus 950 to arrive, I saw many buses of 170*, 170 and 160 driving off with loads of people.

As compared to around two months ago when I last visited Johor Bahru, I feel that the frequency of bus 950 has been reduced. Last time bus 950 comes once every ten minutes or so. Now is around twenty minutes.

I guess this is because bus company SMRT probably has a shortage of buses, that they have to cut down on the buses on 950, that is why now the wait is so long.

If the frequency of bus 950 is now reduced to around twenty minutes, I feel that bus company SMRT should put up the bus arrival timing of bus 950 at the bus stop, so that people can know how long to wait (and decide if they want to take bus 160/170/170* instead).

From Singapore custom, I take bus 170. This is partly because I have concession pass so I can take unlimited bus rides, but really, what is the point in joining a very long queue to wait very long for that bus 950, just so as to save that bit of money if you take a new bus ride? It is not as if the very long amount time of yours is worth only that small amount of fare for new bus ride. So what for save on that small amount of money, which is like only around S$1 (RM3) at most?

If have bus, just take. Singapore Bus 160, 170, 170* and 950 all ply the same route between Singapore custom and Malaysia custom. So why be so particular about what bus to take? Whichever comes first, just take.

Hi mr gekpohboy, I think your comment is invalid. You need to observe the departing frequency of smrt 950 at woodlands bus interchange in order to know its frequency. I observed before. Cheers. Thanks.

I believe the reason why the original poster wrote about bus 950 poor frequency at Johor Bahru custom is because he feels that public cross-boarder bus services like 950, especially 950, should get BSEP service enhancement.

I still think it's because SMRT not enough buses, so they have to take away buses from 950 and use them on mainland Singapore bus routes, and as a result 950 frequency is reduced.

if possible, they should relocate the 950 berth to next to 170, 170* and 160 berth. then next time everyone just take whichever bus comes. although the queue may be long, but with the capacity of buses per hour, everyone can get on the bus back to Singapore fast. :)

otherwise, maybe LTA should enhance bus service 950 by having BSEP buses in the fleet. I know cross-boarder bus services are special bus services, but... at least... at least try to move 950 berth to next to 160/170/170* berths. :)

Its not because SMRT Wldep does not have enough A22s but they simply doesnt want the remaining 8 JB A22s to idle in depot..Ideal fleet for 950 is 13(11A/P 2 S1)buses during Weekdays and 15(13 A/P 2 TQ) buses during Weekends.

It just hapened that I was at Woodlands during evening peak (5.30-6.15pm) today.

Did not realy take note of 950's timings, but IMHO its frequency is really quite bad... Maybe not as bad as 20 minutes, but definitely longer than 10 minutes.

And every single bus leaving Woodlands Reg Int was packed to the door (even more packed than 911/912/913). Wonder how could people board at Marsiling.

The plan is to have 80 new routes.

So far, there are 60 new routes.

(Including City Direct bus services.)

(apparently, extension to existing BSEP new routes not counted, as seen in this article at LTA website.)

This means there will be 20 more new routes from now until the end of 2017.

With a total of eighty BSEP new bus routes, if spread equally, each area should have around three BSEP new bus routes.

Until now still got which area do not have BSEP new bus route, or less than three BSEP new bus routes, then just introduce there lor.

To be fair, I feel that the six areas (Bishan, Bukit Timah, Pasir Ris, Seletar, Serangoon, Toa Payoh) with only one BSEP new bus service should get at least one more BSEP new bus service.

"Developing" areas like Bukit Batok, Choa Chu Kang, Punggol, Sembawang, Seng Kang, Tampines, Woodlands and Yishun should get at least one more BSEP new bus service.

So, yeah, out of twenty more BSEP new bus services, I have predicted like fourteen of them as to where they may be at. Whereas for the remaining six, it can be at anywhere. :)

I think you shouldn't counts CDS as it is only two trips in day. Moreover, how is 41 Clementi and 150 Bedok?

If you see Pasir Ris is town that has had no BSEP service introduced (full day).

I suspect there may be a short feeder in future, otherwise Pasir Ris town is quite well connected.
