Hi mr busanalyser, I think what mr carbikebus means is not this. What he implies is those kids who have richer parents will have their time to success shortened by about 15-20 years compared to those kids who have poorer parents. In other words, those with poorer family background will take much longer time (even count into decades) to reach on an equal footing with those who have richer parents. This is only for those luckier ones. Some may end up striving so hard and yet still lose out. Cheers. Thanks.

Yes and Thanks,Locals with Degree will still have to compete with foreigners with same qualification yet can take lower basic pay.He doesnt feel it because he never taste the level that most of the mid and lower income people face,Did you know that this is the reason why many Singaporeans surrendered their citizenship and live and work abroad?My local Chinese friends now living happily in Australia with own house,car,bikes even though he is working as a senior technician only.You may argue that im a whiner but the truth is always hard to swallow.

erm... I don't advise giving the best for our children, as that would only feed them until they become adults. Imagine what happens if their life has been a bed of roses, then suddenly when they start working they get a shock of how tough life really is.

instead, we should let them learn the hard way. don't clean up their own shit or give them unfair help, otherwise they won't learn. teach them how to live their lives and be successful, then when they grow up, they will be successful adults.

that's what I'm going to do when I have children. I will give them the best, obviously, since they are my blood and meat. I want the best of them. but, after a certain age, I will start to let go and let them live their life on their own, while I guide them. because I know I will not be there for them forever...

anyway, recession is coming. small firms like yours really need to advertise and innovate a lot to encourage people to keep buying your products or use your services. well, today's budget announcement has unveiled many initiatives that will be given to help SMEs in keeping up with costs, automation, etcetera. It's probably good news to you - like how it is for me that there will be the Jurong Innovation District next to my house. Huat ah! :)

All, it seems that the clamour for sbs 76 to be reinstated seems to be anything but just a hype. After the initial hype, it has quietened a lot. Maybe people realize that the situation is not as bad as what people predicted. Even the petition fire has died down. It has stayed at 958 signatures for a few days and today it has only reached 959 signatures, short of its 1000 target. 9 days after the sbs 76 amendment, it cannot even achieve its 1000 signatures. This should speak volume of the failure of its primary objectives and there are alternatives for people to get around to the destinations sbs 76 used to go. Cheers. Thanks.

Hi mr sbs6853S, the forum is for everybody to comment. If you do not like what I say, you are free to ignore me. Do not use such a lousy tone and assume that you know everything. Even if you talk to the MP and authorities, what is the big deal? It does not give you a full right to stop what I have been observing. All of us have a basic right to talk our mind.

A big thumbs down to your lousy attitude. By the way, I cannot see sbs 76 being reinstated in any sense. Hope you prove me wrong then just by talking to the authorities. Cheers. Thanks.

So what are they going to do now? 76 go back to Marine Terrace and still have 134 and 150. Wow. Overkill.

Unless there is high demand between Marine Crescent and Upp Paya Lebar/Serangoon/AMK all of a sudden to warrant a return of 76, its reinstatement will not happen. An extension of 150 up to Serangoon is possible so that at the very least Tai Seng has a direct connection to Marine Crescent. But this would make it very duplicative along Paya Lebar Rd and defeat its main objective of providing MRT access via Eunos.

Of course you could tweak 134 to send it further down Marine Parade Rd such that it skips Marine Cres/Terr and loops at Victoria School instead. Might be useful for VJC and VS students to have a direct link from Sims Pl? But in that case, you may need to scale down capactiy as the Paya Lebar to Marine Parade sector will be shared amongst four services (43, 76, 134 and 135).

But, the main objective in this whole saga was to improve the connection to Paya Lebar and Parkway Parade. While you may argue that some people did take 76 beyond these points, let's face it, everything cancels out - 76's old route had reliability issues which impacted ALL residents REGARDLESS of final destination.

Aiya! Remove sv 76, complain. Give 2 svcs, 134 and 150, some say wasted resources, some ppl want sv 76. At least got bus to take leh and Marine Parade is very well connected. Some towns like Punggol/Sengkang/Sembawang/Gombak no proper link to CBD but MP, a much smaller town has 10/e, 12, 14/e, 16, 36, 32, 196/e and 197 all go CBD.

you take NSL from Gombak to CBD ah? You take NSL/NEL then you know. Worse still, Bt Gombak does not have direct link to places like Sungei Kadut and Science Pk.
