Don't come here to complain about your problems.

Come here instead to ask for solutions to your problems.

You need more self-confidence and self-assurance.

Something which isn't taught in schools.

I suggest that you make newspapers your best friends. They offer free seminars previews. Go to such seminars often. Some might give you new thinking which will result in positive thinking and mindset change only if you know how to disgest those free information which often needs explaination.

Else challange yourself to do something that is crazy for your yourself - of course legal challenges la.

For me - I commit myself to marrathon 2008 Without Any Training and have completed it despite the pain, it's worth it. At least you know your own limits and worth.

It's the process of knowing yourself (for instance in my own example) to better understand your own mental/body weakness before you proceed on.

Your main concern is only money, looks and gf.

Friend, money can be earned. Looks is only for first impression. As for gf, just wait, you will have lots of opportunity. These three points above are not essential to be sucessful. Important is you have a good character - diligent enough to get a good degree, therefore a good job. sincere enough and with a bit socialising, you would get yourself a nice girl.

u wana know failure? u are talking to one right now. i come from broken family, i pay my own university, and i lost my wife and kids.

but still i console myself, i am not worse in singapore, there are ppl plight still much worse than mine.

i am no position to provide advice, as i am depress and down myself. all i can say to you, u r at the beggining of a new chapter of your life. cherish it.

you know i am the only son and only child in the family so i feel a lot of pressure to bring glory to my parents and to continue with my family legacy by giving my parents grandchildren.

But from the way i see.. It seems hard because of my looks.. I cant make my teeth nicer.. My facial complexion can be improved to an extent only.

Because of my looks i lack confidence and self esteem. Amd thats is why i am afraid i will never be able to settle down and raise a family and continue my family name. Furthermore getting old already.

As for studies.. I am always being compared to others.. My dad used to say..( So and so is a doc/lawyer. You leh..? You know how i feel when your uncles and aunts criticize and look down on you ?)

ive too been the perennial underachiever in my family but im happy because i know i dont need any of the fictitious things that my cousins hold, even though they are agreeably important.

i pursue a "higher purpose" you see, like happiness and love.

but i can see where you are coming from, your parents have in place some pressure, but i assure you my friend they only mean well. they don't mean to put you down :)

Sorry to hear about your plight. But at least you manage to get your degree.

I really hope i can do well in uni. My parents invested a lot on me and i really dont want to let them down. And also i dont want my relatives to have a chance to criticize me and cause hurt to my parents.

But i am also afraid of this new chapt because of my weak past background. I have seen my poly friends who just barely made it to year 2.

Honestly, if you come here in hope that people will console or encourage you, i think u have made a wrong choice. You just simply have not seen ppl worse off than you. Pressure from parents, relatives, friends or even yourself is so common and if you cant even cope them now, how are you going to cope when u enter the working society? Think doing a degree is going to be tough? Wait till you do it part time and need to work as well. But thousands of ppl can and are doing it now OKAY???
