Any idea what are they going to test for during the trial?
I guess they will observe the dwell time at bus stop, as well as
the loading on the bus.
If the dwell time is about the same, but the bus ferry less
people, maybe it's better to reject the idea of three-door buses,
and stick to two-door buses.
Anyway, if this is all they want, I don't see why they need to
trial so long, on multiple routes, when they can just borrow a
three door bus from the European market, run it on any bus route,
compare the variables with that of the normal two-door buses, and
return the bus to the manufacturer afterwards.
Especially now since Pound drop a lot, and may drop further.
It's cheaper to borrow a bus than to create a bus for trial.
Unless, they already have the intention to commission the bus
after the trial, and this trial is actually just to test the
people's acceptance of three-door buses...
