Unauthorised charges to my credit card

I am Cbank card holder, I has unauthorised charges from merchant amounting S$100+ debited to account.

I called my Card Bank immediately but my irresponsible bank claimed they cannot help to dispute the charges but can accept unauthorised charges.

The dishonest merchant cannot produce any signed documents like agreement or contract but claimed was verbally agreement. I truely did not agree/accept any of their insurance with them.

Firstly, my concern is whether can Card Bank let any "Tom, Dick merchants" charge to my card without any written approval from the card holder and is this the proper procedure of ABS's terms and conditions. What is the bank's responsible??

Cbank cannot help the card holder at all and their only word is always "Cannot Help"
because dishonest merchant has right.

I would appreciate that any kind soul can advise me to get assistance for above issue.

Bring up the matter to CASE and threaten to cancel their card.If u always incur interest on cbank card. They will listen to yr complaint. If u are those always pay on time then u can forget abt it. Unless u spend $50k per annual.

whenever I m back from US or china, I replace all the Cards used in that country with a difference Card nos. and always ask for lower credit card limit

make a police report. you don't make a sgforum report when you've lost your credit card. A card requires a signature. You should learn to defend your own interest.

sorry ah... who's the unauthorised merchant? why did u give him ur credit card number if u din intend to buy anything fr him?

u shld really pursue this wif the bank... since there is no signed agreement, it shld work to ur advantage... dun jus talk to the bank officers but go directly to the manager...

btw, i heard of a guy fren before who used his card to purchase access to porn links online, and then kena charged extra by the website. he also had probs getting his money back. :/

i'm sure ur case is different... otherwise u won't post it online already... but i guess the bottomline is, next time be more careful when giving out ur credit card number...
