Bus routes A and B originate from the same bus interchange C at town D. The two bus routes ply criss-cross routes until town E, where they ply the same route in town E and town F. Town E and town F are next to each other. During peak hours, bus route A is complemented with bus service G, which runs almost the same route as bus route A.

Find bus routes A and B, bus interchange C, towns D, E, F, and bus service G.

Bus Stop A is in Town B. From this bus stop to the central interchange C in this estate, you can only take either Service D or Service E. If you take Service D, the next bus stop where you can meet Service E is in Interchange C itself.

If you take Service D from here, you may alight at Bus Stop F and cross an overhead bridge to take Service G, which also brings you to Interchange C without passing by its looping point. From Bus Stop F, Service G brings you to the central region of Town H where it meets Service D again. Service G is the fastest link between the central regions of Towns B and H by bus.

After double checking:

147 and 74 do have the same route within Hougang before splitting off at Serangoon North.

The only thing that makes the answer wrong is that 147 and 166 duplicate each other from Road Z to Clementi.

Surprisingly I missed that one ;_; I had 186 in mind, so it appears that these two would be the only two correct answers (up to the near future). Nice try! :)

Both Interchanges C and D were recently expanded. One of them was a new separate interchange while the other was an expansion of the current interchange.

Service A terminates at Interchange C and E and passes by Interchange D. I Interchange E will be expanded soon. Service A does not use any expressway, but goes underneath 2 expressways, neither of which are part of Service B's route.

Service B terminates at Interchange D, passes by another interchange F before heading onto an expressway to Town C, and passes within walking distance of Interchange C. It then continues its route within Town C before entering another expressway.

Service A and B duplicate each other from Interchange M to the expressway entrance (with a very winding route which both services are notorious for). A enters the expressway while B crosses over it into town K, where it terminates.

In town K, Service B stops at a major transfer stop right after expressway E, then turns right. At the first bus stop after turning, there are many bus services, but all of them turn left at the next junction, except Service B which goes straight. It is the only bus service left there. It then turns left to another road where it meets Service C again, but only for 1 stop and in opposite directions.

Clue: Services B and C are also notorious for empty double decker buses.

Nice work, but it was not the answer I had in mind. And note that I used "fastest link between the central regions" instead of "bus interchanges", so there are faster links between Punggol and Sengkang, such as 43 and 119.
