Now we knew why SMRT only orders 101 Alexander Dennis Enviro 500.I guaranteed this will be a sucessful trial and probably they will order at least 150 units...

Quite a lot board 83 towards Punggol in the morning before 8am... Mostly students... Some citaros are having trouble handling the load...

The way to work around it tho is to boost freq, not add DDs... Its quite white elephant tbh

Hi mr sbs6750E, 83 is seldom packed, except for few occasions. Nobody can change my opinion on this. I take 3/83 very often. I stay around Punggol central and I rely on public transport everyday. In fact, 3/83 are my key buses. Cheers. Thanks.

For the sake of commuters,Its better with 6 Citaros and 2 B9TLs for S83.

S119 better with 7 Citaros and 2 B9TLs.

S2,S12,S43,S62 & S118 also better with full DDs with occasional SD cameos.

S3 better with 14 SDs and 5 DDs.

Yah I agree with you, but there is sv 3 and 85 running in parallel. If they added DDs on sv 3 instead, that should do the job already.

Today Am shift i observed there is 3 DDs on S3.PM shift aint too sure.Seriously i like service with a mixture of SDs and DDs..Dun really like full SDs or DDs.So svc like 3, 6,17 and 85 is one of my fav.

Search heh... If I could I will still ask you? Nvm... Means you have nothing to offer... In which case SHAME ON YOU to say mine is "random"... Mine is calculated with whatever info I have eg. Purchasing price for every order SBST made... Furthermore common sense also will tell you, assembly in China and an integral bodywork means ADL will def be more cost saving... SMRT didnt buy in bulk compared to SBST which is what made the buses seem more costly... In reality the per-bus cost for ADL is substantially lower...

Hi mr sbs6750E, service 85 not really very parallel because it did not go to Punggol field. 3 and 83 are still parallel along Punggol field. Punggol field also has a huge sector of crowds in morning peak. So 3 is more important to have DDs. Cheers. Thanks.

By some measures, comparing the prices of latest batch of buses could lead to a more accurate reflection of the situation. Here we can see that comparing the latest batch of E500s and Wrights, the Wrights are cheaper than the E500s.

There's not much diff... you have to bear in mind that SBST bought 415 B9s and SMRT only half of that number for ADL... The fact that the difference is so little even though SBST would have enjoyed huge bulk discounts shows clearly that the B9s by themselves are not cheap buses...

In other words, if SBST had bought 201 B9s just like SMRT the cost would be higher...

in actual fact, the actual cost of these B9TL for SBST are lower.. but there is a term called accounting, which result in higher OMV....

I remember coming across another article which mentioned another 137 new A95s will roll in next year. Is that Batch 3 or something? And also anymore A95s (probably from 58xx onwards) going to come out soon? Hopefully all for SMRT though.
