To some extent, Punggol today is like Jurong West Extension in
the 1980s.
Jurong West Extension started construction in the 1980s and
construction completed in year 2006: around twenty six years. For a
period of time, Jurong West Extension was the place of new HDB
flats.
Now, it is Punggol being the place of new HDB flats. Punggol
started construction in year 1998. If Jurong West Extension took
twenty six years, Punggol would likely also take twenty six years,
until year 2024.
If it took twenty nine years (1980 - 2009) before Jurong West
Extension had its integrated transport hub at Boon Lay, Punggol
would likely also only have its integrated transport hub in its
twenty ninth year, in 2027.
Sorry ah. Punggol still not enough people. Now still not viable
to have so much commercial space, or have ITH.
Nonetheless, at least Punggol has LRT. Jurong West Extension
until now still do not have LRT. They say want to build LRT at
Jurong West Extension for more than ten years already, but until
now, still no news about it. :(
Hi mr jurongresident, 100% no more LRT at jurong west extension.
Anyway LRT not that useful. It is either MRT or bus. Cheers.
Thanks.
