Next time, I think the one for the Jurong Region Line will also be a two-in-one depot. Bus depot below, JRL depot above.

I think both Changi and Mandai are... For Changi Depot, 2nd level EWL, 1st TEL and buses, and basement DTL if I'm not wrong.

Joo Koon Bus Interchange. Saw around four double decker buses parked there. They are the Volvo B9TL Gemini Wright, with the livery of SBS Transit. They look brand new.

Contrary to what many people claim, I guess there would be high usage at Joo Koon Bus Interchange, even during weekends. This is from my observations on Joo Koon MRT station, where there is high usage of the MRT to and from the station.

During the campaign period of the General Elections, the PAP team for my GRC sent around three booklets to my house, one of which is about the improvements to transport and infrastructure. In that booklet, they say that Joo Koon Bus Interchange would open by the end of this year, and with the opening of the bus interchange, they hope to make changes to some bus services.

I think both Changi and Mandai are... For Changi Depot, 2nd level EWL, 1st TEL and buses, and basement DTL if I'm not wrong.

I might think Changi is definately for SBST and Mandai for SMRT.From the plan,Its 3 storey depot with a capacity of 600 and 550 respectively.

From my observations, it seems that the heavily utilized Jurong-Industrial bus services are 182, 251 and 252.

Anyway, I think it is more logical to move 182, 254, 255 and 257, because these are bus services for the Tuas Industrial Area, not Jurong. Besides, these routes duplicate other routes when in Jurong area, except at Benoi Sector area.

I suppose there would be new bus services for Benoi area, while 254, 255 and 257 are shortened to Joo Koon Bus Interchange.

182/M will start from Joo Koon Int, ply Joo Koon Circle, Benoi Rd, Upp Jurong Rd and continues its original route to Tuas South Ave 9.

254 will start from Joo Koon Int, ply Joo Koon Circle, Benoi Rd, Pioneer Rd and continues its original route to Tuas Ave 11.

255 will start from Joo Koon Int, ply Joo Koon Circle, Benoi Rd, Gul Circle and continues its original route to Gul Cres.

257 will start from Joo Koon Int, ply Joo Koon Circle, Benoi Rd and continues its original route to Pioneer Sector 2.

New service 253 will be introduced from Joo Koon Int looping at Jln Samulun, via Joo Koon Circle, Benoi Rd, Pioneer Rd, Tg Kling Rd, Shipyard Rd and Jln Samulun, covering the removed sector of 254.

249 will be amended to loop at Tg Kling Rd, skipping Shipyard Rd and Jln Samulun (covered by 253).

(Alternatively, 251 can be amended to Pioneer Rd with 253 plying Shipyard Rd and Tg Kling Rd to Jurong Shipyard, and 249 skipping Jurong Shipyard.)

New service 256 will be introduced from Joo Koon Int looping at Benoi Cres, via Joo Koon Circle, Benoi Rd, Benoi Sector and Benoi Cres, covering the removed sector of 255.

New service 258 will be introduced from Joo Koon Int to Kian Teck Cres, via Joo Koon Circle, Benoi Rd, Jln Ahmad Ibrahim, Pioneer Rd North, Kian Teck Way, Kian Teck Ave, Kian Teck Dr, Kian Teck Cres, Kian Teck Ave, Kian Teck Way and back to Joo Koon Int, covering the removed sector of 257.

(Alternatively, 258 can be from Joo Koon Int to Taman Jurong Ter, via Joo Koon Circle, Benoi Rd, Jln Ahmad Ibrahim, Pioneer Rd North, International Rd, Yung Kuang Rd, Corporation Dr, Yung Ho Rd, Yuan Ching Rd and Hu Ching Rd.)

Hi Mr AJQZC, I have scanned through the links. Actually, I wrote something similar on the forums back in February/March this year.

Well, the consensus is clear. It's 254, 255, 257. And 182. That would go to Joo Koon. The new bus routes are roughly the same across all our suggestions, all at Benoi area.

The new part is 99. I do not think anyone saw it coming, until someone leaked the information that 99 would go to Joo Koon. Well, I welcome the idea of letting 99 terminate at Joo Koon. Currently, a journey from Clementi to Jurong West Street 91 takes around two to three hours, not to mention returning back to Clementi. By extending the route to Joo Koon, we are actually shortening the trip by around half. This would make it less exhausting for the bus captains to drive 99.

Meanwhile, bus 972 is another long route that is just like 99 - except the kind of catchment area it serves. Would it be feasible to extend it to a bus terminal (eg. Marina Centre Bus Terminal) and terminate there?

Oops. I can understand if everyone is all with 99 to Joo Koon ... but it was just LTA's draft, not even a confirmed amendment. In fact before the info leak, many were calling for it to end at Boon Lay or Soon Lee depot instead ...

As for 972, it can probably extend to Shenton Way, provided there is demand ... then 971E can be renumbered 972E as well.

On a side note, many long trunks that looped near bus interchanges (16, 123, 124, etc.) have already been force-extended to end there, probably for similar reasons. The reverse for Changi Airport services, and 62 is still stranded outside Lor 1.
