Ulu Pandan Depot capacity is 500 buses.

I guess the Ulu Pandan GCM will involve bus routes at Clementi, Jurong East, Joo Koon, Bukit Batok, Boon Lay and Tuas.

I guess it will begin with 482 buses on 30 routes (see below), with 18 spare capacity for future bus services to serve the future industrial and business developments in Jurong.

Clementi: 7, 14, 147, 156, 165, 166, 175, 196 - up to 183 buses

Jurong East: 51, 52, 105, 197, 506 - up to 114 buses

Joo Koon: 99, 182, 182M, 253, 254, 255, 257, 258 - up to 72 buses

Bukit Batok: 61, 852 - up to 46 buses

Boon Lay: 246, 249, 251, 252, 256 - up to 40 buses

Tuas: 192, 193 - up to 27 buses

If I remember correctly, a few years ago, someone said something about "West Coast package". Could this be the one?

Anyway, Ulu Pandan Depot will be ready in Q1 2018. I guess Ulu Pandan GCM will come in from Q1 2019.

Mostly 7 and 14 will always come from Ulu Pandan Depot cos there is no other choice. Since u like to cut so much. 147 got no choice because of majority BBDEP, together with 165 and 166. 156 and 175 will always be in BBDEP one.

If there is West Coast package then it would be for Bt Merah,HBF and CBD svc.Sungei Tengah in 2017,Ulu Pandan by 2018 and Mandai by 2019.I hope there will be more than 12 packages if LTA is serious about having 3-5 operators

We can have a GCM package that involves only the thirty bus routes at Bukit Panjang and Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchanges.

We can build a new bus depot with capacity of 500 buses at Bukit Panjang or Choa Chu Kang.

The Bukit Panjang GCM can start with around 430 to 452 buses (if they want 5% spare buses for "emergency") in the beginning, and eventually use up to 500 buses (475 if factor in 5% for "emergency" deployment).

With around 45 capacity reserved, this means around 3 to 9 new bus routes in future, which should be enough for the future developments in Bukit Panjang and Choa Chu Kang.

Bulim GCM

- Currently, under SBS Transit and SMRT, the twenty six affected bus routes use up to 320 buses.

- Tower transit will use 367 buses, which means 19 of them are reserved (5%) while 348 of them are in operation.

- With 28 more buses, we can expect higher frequency on some of the bus services, or even all of the bus services. As there are 28 more buses and 26 routes, who knows all the routes get 1 to 2 more buses each? :)

Loyang GCM

- Currently, under SBS Transit, the twenty four affected bus routes use up to 312 buses.

- The average number of buses per route is 13, so I assume the new route (twenty-fifth route) will use 15 buses.

- 312 + 15 = 327. Let's assume the affected routes "currently" use a total of 327 buses.

- I do not know why they say the Loyang GCM will be have "about 400 buses". The actual number could be about the same as the number of buses at Bulim GCM.

- If Bulim GCM will use 367 buses, Loyang GCM would probably use around 367 to 376 buses...

- There will be more buses, so we can expect higher frequencies. :)

I guess when the LTA review the tenders submitted, they emphasise on the quality control of the buses. With so many (more) buses, they want the best people to "adopt" their buses. Because after all, the buses do not belong to the operators. When something do not belong to you, you would have no interest in taking care of it - common sense. So, with that in mind, I feel that the LTA really emphasise on how the potential bus companies take care of their buses...

Go-Ahead probably won because they promise to use technology to manage the buses. Tower Transit probably won because they promise to treat their staff very well (so that their staff would in return take good care of the buses and deliver good service)...

this may explain why SMRT has not won any contract yet.... -no offense-

as to why SBS Transit never win anything, I do not know, but I think they should be almost there. just gotta keep it up and improve a bit more...

The future Tuas Bus Terminal is near the future Tuas Link MRT Station (EW33). Yet, on the MRT system map, there is no bus symbol next to the "Tuas Link" station on the map.

Is it becoz the Bus terminal is not near to the MRT station?

If iirc, judging frm the google maps, the bus terminal is a distance from the MRT Station right? Is it within the vicinity of the MRT Depot?
