Otherwise right now there is not really need for Buangkok interchange given that there will be Bidadari, HG extension, Sengkang extension and Punggol extension. In that case, Buangkok ITH can wait for few more years.

Buangkok ITH should be about the same size as Clementi (25-30 lots), since it is so near to Hougang and Sengkang interchanges.

What if LTA introduces a route from CCK to Sengkang?

Just saying, it's not quite possible by history of LTA routes.

The reason why LTA now build more bus interchanges at North East Line / Tampines is because so that they can undo 97, 106 and 111, re-instate withdrawn NEL services.

97 Jurong East - Tampines Concourse

106 Bukit Batok - Punggol

111 Ghim Moh - Farrer Park (Loop)

373 Compassvale - Fernvale Road (Loop)

501 Compassvale - Shenton Way via Outram Road

Hi mr TPS Timothy Mok, can you please forget about NEL bus rationalization? It is already more than 14 years ago. Don't tell me you will cry wolf again when they are going to activate DTL bus rationalization! The actual reason should be due to the huge number of BTOs in the new estates in northeast area. Current interchanges are too small so need to increase parking lots. Cheers. Thanks.

Not just interchanges, but on the roads, just look at Eunos Link/Jln Eunos, queues of buses lining up at the bus stops. What they should do is to have different boarding zones at those long bus stops, buses are currently stopping 2 or even 3 times at the same bus stop before moving off because passengers at the front end of the bus stop are unwilling to move to the rear end to board, of course they should also build a bay for these bus stops to allow buses to overtake buses in the other section. If they have more space, they could try mutiple bus stops eg MacRitchie/old Telok Ayer/Old Victoria Concert Hall bus stops. This should speed things up by a little for passengers.

Hi mr busanalyser, the Sengkang expansion is permanent. Not temp. Sengkang current interchange only has 16 lots which is insufficient. The expansion will give it additional 12 lots. These are meant for BSEP coming up. This expansion and buangkok ITH are two different issues.

The buangkok ITH is to be built with residential and commercial sites. With many more flats coming up, buangkok is expected to be self-sufficient without relying on Sengkang interchange. However all these are still far fetched. Expect lots of population boom around the area in Yr 2022 onwards. Cheers. Thanks.

Just look at Boon Lay,Bedok,Tampines,Punggol,Ang Mo Kio,Woodlands to name a few.

Find parking space already wasted BC rest/mealbreak time..Exiting also problem..All waiting for accidents to happen.To create space,LTA purposely ask BCs to take bus to depot then another shift take over etc..

I ever done a svc 2 duty start at 0600 end at 1545 Lydep..Then at 1800 Pm shift svc 43 use that bus until 2210 Lydep again..

I liked when it was called "Compassvale" easier to differentiate.

Both Sengkang and Tampines bus interchange extensions are ready. Dec like every year will have at least announcement of 4-5 new services.

Last year was 47, 117, 118 and soon after was 382G/W.
