maybe JRL is the reason why Pioneer Sec was chosen to close, but, there is really declining enrolment in the schools at Jurong West...

whereas for Pioneer Pri, ... maybe that's why MOE opened two new primary schools (Frontier & Westwood), although Jurong West no more new HDB already.

Actually, I got a bad feeling that my house will kanna SERS, with the replacement flat at Tengah... because my house is at Jurong West Street 81, and there's a high chance that the government may re-develop Jurong West, starting from that area, while they develop Jurong Lake District and Jurong Innovation District... hopefully not. I personally don't like Tengah. That place so ulu, have to wait long long for amenities all over again... and somemore no direct public transport to the city.

or maybe the SERS will hit the flats along Street 75 and 82 instead, cuz that area really no space for elevated viaduct...

either way, next year confirm will have SERS about Jurong West, and it's related to Jurong Region Line... and Jurong Innovation District.

Jurong West SERS? You got to be kidding me, Street 75 and 80+ exist after the 90s and most of the SERs blocs are 30+ years existed, so want to have SERs, wait a bit longer.

PLUS, Tengah is a new town, i'm pretty sure all public housing are BTOs, not SERs.

now got 1 new service operated by a PTO in SEM which acts like carpooling

It duplicates 656 then go on SLE/CTE towards Bukit Merah to complement 167 and then follow 120 towards HBF. Only operates during morning hours in 1 direction (15 stops total)

Its free, but you have to book the seats first

Let's introduce service if only really needed. Don't need anymore services like 46 and 150.

But I am sure there will be a new service for Canberra coming up in Q4. BTOs have opened up for occupancy.

I still feel they should have diverted 117 to Canberra Estate. This way 117 would have served Sembawang-Yishun MRT + allow those going forward to Khatib, Seletar, Punggol etc. to have a direct service. Moreover, 117 has enough capacity to handle the load right now.

Most of the BTOs will anyway be coming up end 2017/2018.

Possible. I would like a route to the East, one to the city (enter Suntec City) and maybe a new route to CGA later. But now some of the lots are taken for training buses

117 entering Canberra would mean that the fastest link bet. Yishun & Sembawang is no longer applicable and lose paasengers as it is a route many people use to go fast compared to 858

Come on - there is MRT to take you faster between Yishun and Sembawang. Alternately, there is also 856, 858, 859. Not enough?

Let's look at what will benefit more people.

Yes, you have 856 nearby. But I dont think the residents want to since its a long walk to them since some of them are elderly too. In addition, 117 reaches your destination faster than walking to the MRT when the bus stop is in front of you and it is also a semi express service towards Yishun

What about those people from the mosque every Friday too? There are at least 15 pax who board the bus as it is also a generally fast way to get to the mosque. Not all people do want to go to the mosque in SEM, you know

the problem here is stop pushing people to take mrt. not all the place is reachable by train. also look at circle line every morning so many people. I wonder if LTA can look for other way of transport other than train. to get to a place faster.

What i thinking is base on the bus service LTA spend a bit of money by drawing full day bus lane at those places where high demand for public transport whether is for train or bus service. force cars to give way to buses along the way. and also bulid overhead bus lane at key junctions. We not need another MRT lines. just semi BRT might help out.

Now we have electric bus on trial maybe as well perpare a good transport plan both bus and train.

it is just an additional 1km detour.... the travel time wont add so much...maybe 5-10 mins?

further, it will benefit the residents at the new canberra flats for them to have direct link to yishun, rather than have to take feeders or walk out to the main roads.....

Hi mr smb1368T, from the way I see it, LTA will not re-route service 117 to pass through other parts of sembawang. The way the route is current structured can tell that it is all along main roads and directly connected to sembawang bus interchange and MRT in the fastest possible manner. Counting the number of stops it goes in to Canberra link and sembawang way will make all realize this. Yes, I agree Canberra link blk 589D needs it. Moreover, it is a trunk service to connect Punggol to yishun and sembawang. So no need to worry about detractors who will always want to route into those new flats around Canberra areas. That will definitely be planned for new routes and most likely feeder services first and later on new trunks. Cheers. Thanks.

Pls explain sv 21. Rerouted to Jln Tenteram. Sv 117 will still serve Blk 589D if rerouted to Canberra.

To lemon1974,

the problem is that not many people will live there from this year onwards. You cant expect a major service to serve a small community. That is why 42 is the only bus in Kembangan as the population is small. Furthermore, you have 883 which is going to SEM MRT too where you have more connections from there which other services can still tank the load

I am sure more services will go there once its fully developed
