didnt do well for exams

haiz...didnt do well for uni exams...no matter how hard i study for exams, somehow the paper always come out differently from wat i expected...

sometimes i really think im not the studying calibre....stuck in a course i dislike also...i did do my tutorials consistently, however, the coverage is so much, that i tend to gloze over many tutorial questions when im doing my final revision...then have to depend on my long-term memory to do those qns...cant seem to recall so much information...then for some subjects its so difficult that i always end up doing rubbish for my tutorials...then the tutor say i never do work...i feel so hopeless...

haiz...really feel like taking a break from studies...perhaps i should go out and work instead or maybe apply to take a 1-semester break from studies? can anyone advice me on wat to do?

perhaps ur study method is not suitable for u? Constantly explore different ways to study. It's about understanding and not memorizing.

or perhaps like u said, inside u, u no longer want to study. Then take a break. Otherwise u are just wasting money and precious time.

well, maybe next sem u will do better? just try to dun pontang lectures and tutorial, n if got online lecture just keep listening to it and try to understand the stuff lo.. if u can make it to uni the standard should be there de mah no?

tutorial qns are quite impt becoz they are a gauge to whether u understand the chapter or not.. this kind of thing cannot last min hug buddha's legs one la.. so many modules in 3mths.. buddha also only got 2 legs everybody want to hug in the end only 2 can get wat..

the more u understand in lectures and use handwritten notes for urself, the less revision u have to do for the final exams..

as for ur break thingy, if u really think it doesn't impede ur progress, den go ahead.. maybe in that 3 mths u can take a breather.. but just hope ur 3 mth u dun rust..

try and understand & not memorise (if possible)...

sometimes in exam, really have to spot questions... some questions will definately not come out, so no need to go all out to study.. jz waste time only... some questions, confirm will come out, so make sure u can do.

during exam, die die write something.. dont leave blank.. at least the marker can give u some marks if they really have to..

some times i want to write i oso duno wat to write.. i noe markers can get lenient and give me marks but the pen in hand, the book open big big(yes it's open book EXAM) but just cannot write.. its ridiculous i tell u.. i step out of the exam hall me and my frens larf like siao.. coz we all just duno wat to write.. it was hilarious until we din feel sad we lost 30 40 marks to BLANKS.. Laughing

cheer up pal. Exams are over and now you kick back and enjoy your vacation. Don't make a decision right now while you feel upset. You still got time to decide.

I agree with the poster that you need to change your study methods. I found Tony Buzan's mind=maps and the way to do revision in "superlearning" book very helpful.

if majority of the people cant write at all.. mean that is normal lor... & "open book" exam is usually the scariest one. cos what is in the book, wont come out. if it will... mean u have no time to flip..
