I would disagree over the quote "services like 61 wouldn't have
existed till today...".
Sure, Service 61 could be split up and reorganised into separate
services, with the sectors experiencing weaker demands deleted.
However, it still provides critical and heavily utilised
connections along numerous sectors of its route, such as between
Bukit Batok and NP/SIM and also being the only service serving the
south loop of Commonwealth Dr.
122 can be enhanced to cover Tanglin Halt estate too. Current
route to Queensway, then Commonwealth Ave, Commonwealth Dr (South),
Queensway, then resume current route from Commonwealth Dr
(North).
61 can simply become a BBT-Tanglin Halt loop service. 970 can
cover the Queensway-Chinatown portion.
