thomas edison failed at least 1000 times before he finally
invented the light bulb
albert einstein was kicked out of school cuz the principle thot he
was really stupid and could not understand basic math concept;
ironically, he became the albert einstein we now know as the genius
scientist (he is autistic by the way)
nelson mandela was in prison for many years before he became a
political figure
great wars are first won by failures
everyone have their off days. its not your accomplishment that
makes you successful, but it is your ability to pick yourself up
and overcome failure that makes you successful
without failure, you can never taste the greatness and sweetness of
your success
if you succeed all the time, you will be arrogant and take succees
for granted, but if you have failed, and know the pain of failing,
you can inspire others to succeed despite failure. meaning you
learn to plant long lasting seeds and sow long lasting fruits
it is true in singapore we have to be practical, but i say, if you
starting from today, give yourself another chance, keep your head
down, and work hard, your chance to pick up again will come.
you are in poly now, and failing a semester does not mean the end
of the world. don't write yourself off. everyone is important and
have a gift, just focus in believing in urself
i have a friend he is in SMU Law now, GPA is 3.83/4.00 double
degree in Law and accountancy. he started by screwing up his Os, he
did worse than i did. because of his CCA he made it to Catholic JC
where he studied arts. every1 looked down on him than, but he
believed in himself. he worked hard. he made it to NUS maritime
studies after As, but it was not a course he wants, so he applead
to business in SMU, rejected 3 times, by the forth, somehow, maybe
cuz of his determination, the headmaster let him in to SMU. he
started as econs, than before school start he saw an opening in
accountancy, he applied, he got in. He worked hard for first
semester and he did very well. when SMU launch the law program, he
applied, and got in. all these did not happen without hard work and
perseverance. he was humilated when screw up his Os, but he dint
let ppl dictate his life. He gave himself a chance.
i am not asking u to be him, but i plead with u that u be urself. u
r a very special person. u have gift and talents that no one can
replace. ur presence in this world is important regardless of
whether people acknowledge that or not.
just believe. the path is long, many doors will close, but many
doors will open. you just have to pay attention to the open
ones
