Depends on the circumstances of the break up.:
If it's amiable, just keep if you want to. If it's too hard to
forget him, then give away or throw away. 
If he's scum or was a two-timer, send back to him. For pictures you
took with him, cut out his pic with pen knife and mail back to him
too.
