The school is only a mini society.

After you come out into the real adult world.
You will realise that humans are , shallow.

Before they really get to know the nice, friendly you inside. They will first judge you on your external looks.
That is why they say, first impression is very important.

Now, I am not trying to make you feel hopeless.
I just want you to understand the reality of adult life, so that you can work on improving some of the areas which can help with your social effort.

I have a sec school classmate.. she wears really thick bulky and ah mah looking glasses in school. Was really fat and don't seem to like to brush her hair.
Everyone shuns her..... but she was really smart girl. She scores very high in her exams....after sec school we don't contact each other ..but I heard she
further her studies in a prestigious uni overseas.
She wasn't from a rich family, she worked part-time and pay her way with bursaries and study grants..... I remember she was very frugal...she would used her stuff untill so beat up but still don't want to change a new one.

Few years later, I met her during our reunion gatherings.
My eyes popped out. She slim down.. her thick glasses gone.. I think she went for some corrective eye surgery , so she only wears contact lens now.
She dress up really nice and needless to say.. she was the center of attraction during the gathering.

Everyone was going " Wow.. is that really you ?"...
She was still the friendly girl we used to know.... except , now the caterpillar has morphed into a butterfly......a smart butterfly.....

Do you believe you can be like her ?

Looks are the first thing a person see and they will judge u base on it.

Nothing in life is permanent - the only absolute thing in life is changes itself.

If you have resigned to fate, you will forever position in that brand until you do something drastic to alter it.

I said that it's a skill because you can work to become pretty yourself. You can acquire beauty through intensive hard work.

There are two reasons why woman fail to achieve this goal. One is that they are lazy; the other is that they lack the essential knowledge to effectively transform themselves.

Heehee... this reminds me of me!

I was in a class with only 6 girls. One of the 1st things a guy spoke to me when I joined the class was "did u ever consider plastic surgery?" The big unfortunate thing was the other 5 girls a lot of them were considered the cutest, prettiest in the whole school! :O

Throughout the 2 years in the class, there were guys who would only joke and chat with them. I felt hurt at times but hey that's life. My best friend was one of the most popular girls, and I realised guys would come up and talk to me ONLY when she's around!

i was doing design and tech. and during an important exam, just before passing up my entire project broke into half. I was devastated. I gave up entirely and decided to concentrate on my other subjects. And guess what, I realised that some of the guys who had completed their revision actually spent the time to rebuild the project based on my design so that I could have something to hand up!

That's when I realise that well, Sometimes guys will be guys. Just like guys, we are also sometimes affected by how someone looks. It is sometihng they can't help especially at this schooling age. It is somethign they can't help no matter how old they are, to be attracted by good looks.

But that does not mean that friendship is less important to them (some of them at least) and in the long run, really, looks does not mean everything. More importantly is your own self confidence that despite external appearanceas, you are someone of worth and sincerity.

One good thing i have realised over the years (hoho i am 31 liao loh) is that hahah I will NEVER EVER have to worry that a man is attracted to me because of my looks (only)!!!

My poor pretty friends always have this fear that a guy likes them only cos of their looks and when the guys get to know them, they will not be attracted by their personalities. I was stumped when I heard this the first time.

so insecurity is everywhere! Don't be ruled by it! heehee

i was also in the same boat as u. i was 1 of 4 gals in my class of 19. i also happen to be the fattest one, the most 'dun know how to dress' and most atas one (well they can't speak english n i can't speak mandarin so can't be bothered to talk to them)

i lived thu sch with a boyfren since year 1 and never really had a break in between boys. n i believe the difference is in confidence. if you r sure about yourself, who u r, pple will naturally be drawn to you.

dun worry too much about pple who r shallow, be yourself and conquer the world Cool

Pretty gals have a better life?

Imagine you are a pretty gal, lots of guys want to be with you. After carefull selection you chose the most handsome guy. Both of you becomes stead but when a better looking one comes along he will just break up with you.
Imagine repeating this cycle for 10 times.

Thats the main reason why pretty gals chose normal looking guys.

the same situation,
one of my friend he broke his hw,
i help him redo one,
in the end he say:"extra, dont expect me to thanks u, fatass"

and, to the TS,
u must noe that humour is always a helping aid to everything in life......
learn to be humorous
not like always tell jokes,
but make jokes straight from the situation......
thats life,
i am like u TS,
but my humour kept me happy, not with my friends, but with the girls....
haiz....... guess i dont have any true friends... anymore......

Oh man, this is so true. I find that whenever im on the streets or on the mrt. Whenever i see a pretty girl , i'll just look at her once and immediately look away. However, whenever i see someone behaving really natural; Filled with confidence. Even if she is short, fat and ugly. I wont hesitate to look at her twice, thrice or as many times until she thinks im a pervert.

I've once heard something like this:

Attraction is not what keeps the man.

So start feeling good about yourself, accept yourself.

And most importantly, love yourself =)

Hello, you don't need to be popular... you need only 1, yes, only one person to like you enough to marry you....

Face REALITY and reality includes many boys your age like "chio" gers but REALITY also includes the fact that there will be boys that like you.

REALITY includes the fact the the boys that like you, they like you for YOU and not your looks....

So take care to BECOME an attractive person on the inside as well as on the outside... as long as you are clean, neat, pleasant on the outside, that is good enough...

Learn to be a friendly, considerate person aware and conscious of other's sensitivities and easy going, not pushy and wanting your way all the time... I am so sure you will end up a happy person...
