There's 2 ways to look at this.
For example a vase: Once broken, even though u super-glue back.
There are still the cracks visible there.
Another example: The sole of the shoe has broken off, you send it
to the clobber and fix it. It becomes better than before.
Applies to different people and different situation, it all depends
on how bad it is...
Most of the time the former occurs more than the latter one.
