Like what many said, just do it. Ask the sacred question, it may
be shy but at least you made the move. Unless you can read people's
mind then don't assume, her reply can mean anything.
If she is hesitant about it then give her sometime to think, don't
rush, patience is virtue.
However the truth can be hurting so don't be sure that its a yes
but always be optimistic and never hang on to something impossible,
have a big heart.
