For ZF, when the bus kickdowns, it makes a musical howl but what about voith, how does the engine sound like when kickdown? Does the engine sound louder or...

Old Voiths generally have a distinct scream/whistle or whatever you would call throughout the gears. Since all Voiths have only 4-gears, the engine has to work harder to get to the same speed as the 5-gear ZFs in the same time, needing the engine to get to a higher RPM thus making the engine sound louder. If the company buying buses from Scania, the Scania buses only can use ZF Ecolife, because the Voith doesn't offer for Scania.

I think Scanias go better with Voiths equipped with SensoTop.

ZF for WAB buses are 6-speed of gear & for Non-WAB buses are 4-speed of gear.

Voith for WAB buses are 4-speed of gear & for Non-WAB buses are 3-speed of gear
