The constant use of IRC shows that she's lonely; leaving the TV
on despite not watching, supports this as well (programs: voices
etc.).
You probably wouldn't be able to fill that void because she seem's
to prefer the company of others to yours; don't be sad, a number of
the previous generation (in SG) seem to prefer having a line
drawn.
The best way to get your mom moving is to help her find friends
(not love), friends whose house visits would excite her enough so
that she'll prepare (by cleaning etc.).
Really, she is just bored and lonely. It seems to me many >40
and 60< feels this way.
