I think the damage has already been done and he is definitely not interested in you after he realized it was you. It must have come as a shock to him when he realized it was you, the lady whom he was just being gentlemanly to and you had just misinterpret his intention. What was worse was the continuous smses you sent him. You definitely has scared him off and I wouldn't be surprise if he thought he was glad he had lie to you of being having a girlfriend. I suppose you might ask then why he had taken your offer to meet for lunch. My guess was he didn't know it was you. If you have said you were the woman he met in the lift every morning in the first place, I guarantee he wouldn't have accepted your invitation.

Do you go around tracking someone down when the guy was just being a gentleman? Looks to me like you were reading too much into someone's innocent gestures. Rolling Eyes

Does it matter whether the Sales person is a man/woman as he/she turns you off with hard selling?

Problem lies not in the gender, but in the 'sales tactics'.

Nevertheless, one pat for you to muster the ability to initiate courage and pursue the man you are interested in.

And like all rejections - both subtle and direct - who cares? Not as if you will lose anything. Remember, you started with nothing and even if you ended up with nothing eventually... reasonable what - anything more is a bonus. Idea

I beg to differ with Yun's views this time.

If TS were to continue with her way of pursuing, there would be probably a lot of awkwardness to bear. Not to mention that she is already feeling lonely in her work environment, to have others gossiping about her behind her back would not serve good for her self-esteem Idea

Nope, I am not edging her on - it was intended for a 'it-is-ok'/consolation kind of thingy.

Thus the 'ended up with nothing' is merely an analogy that describes her failed attempt. Nothing else.

I will reframe: she started out not knowing the guy (began with nothing) and now that she is 'rejected', it's not that she has 'lost him' (you can't lose nothing since you began with nothing).
