Double degree may sound very attractive, but we still do not
know much on how the majority market(employers) will look at
it.
Although doing double degree track promisses that it's the same as
doing two degree but at shorter time, I am not sure about the
quality of the students. I am not saying that DD track is not good,
but it's just something new.
Same may say that double degree is another Hybrid course, and might
have compromises here and there.
Let me give you an example.
3 diploma holders. They were Dip. Business Admin, Dip. in IT, and
Dip. Business IT.
When coming to job prospect, your qualification does matters. A
'pure' BA and 'pure' IT student will have an advantage as compared
to the 'hybrid' BIT.
Even if I am the employer, I'll chose the 'pure' as compare to the
'hybrid' track.
Unless you are very very sure that your future employer is going to
use your expertise in future, then go ahead with the DD
track.
Reasons which may affect the empolyers mindset could the salary
issue for the DD track grad, or wheather do they really need your
DD expertise.
